Was wondering how well a nice jab zon would do... I have never built one and dont really know what points/stats I should do.

Gear would be
Eth Devastator Lance with Zod and maybe 2x ber?
Eth Tyreals Need ideas for soc
Worldstone Granite
Sacrens ammy for CTC amp
Maybe COA for helm?
Gloves?
Boots?
Rings?

Any ideas? Do you think this would be a strong build? I am looking for a heavy boss killer such as hell baal/minions Sammy and what not.

No you won't be a heavy bosskiller. Mine died at hell baal from her worst enemy, Iron Maiden. The fact she has two multi attacks and one slow as fuck makes her extremely prone to get IMed while attacking.

She does really well dmgwise though and are fun to play.

At the moment of her demise she was wearing (at 94):
Glass glare w amethyst
Full mancers w amethyst and emerald in helm
2 zon bloodrings
Gore riders
Metalgrid (crucial for the ar, she's struggling with that on jab)
Steel Pillar

Was gonna stick with the same setup just change to Eth Devastator and a Tyraels, maybe even go with diamonds in the tyraels.

It doesn't really seem like your zon was set up for heavy boss fights. I dont understand why you would have mancer set and a melee charc, you would want more ias/dr/cb than it gives you.Obviously the lvl 95 spear would have made her way more powerful, dmg, life, res, and def wise. Plus with a COA and tyreals I would have decent DR. Bers and gores gives me a fair amount of CB and that paired with jab would destroy correct? Plus dodge and evade makes me getting hit even less likely. I may just try and make her on Heroeditor and see what happens.

Going dodge/evade on a melee zon means you're gonna get dodge locked.

yeh dont add to any dodge skill on a melee zon. The problem is IM, when you are doing 3 attacks at 40k while IM'd you will die very very fast

This. You won't need more ias when you have Devastator on btw.

She was using the best gear avaliable, tried other options but mancers set gave her alot of nice bonuses.

Alot of resists, the str and dex on it are very much needed if you wanna get to use Tyraels aswell. High ml/ll. Some dr etc.

There we go, almost set up for end game now. Gonna get he a anni aswell.

Ah yea, no buffs other than zeros frozen armor on.

And I'm planning on getting something to deal with IM areas, maybe a bow or something with a oskill.

Dual wirts gotten and now I have a BRC in the cube to deal with IM heavy areas. Just need to decide on what to use the last socket in it for.

Are one-handed javelins totally out of the question?

I haven't made a javazon in HU so I have no experience in this matter, but it seems like even dedicated two-handed melee characters (mace barbs, dual wielders, etc) can benefit from having a shield on switch. Extra resists, chance to add %DR, block incoming damage, etc. Yes/no?

Yeh, I would personally recomend using an eth matriarchal javelin with brand runewrod for the ctc amp with maybe a hhg or even stormshield for the dr%.

the only problem with switchng to 1 handed is you lose the lifebuff, res buff and def buff from that sexy ass pike.

Yea, the mods on Destructor are too good to pass up on. And I wanted to do a 2 handed jabber. And the bow is for IM areas, a jav would maybe lower the dmg enough but can't be sure.

Ok, BRC tried out and it's clear that the dmg aint good enough. Need something else for IM areas.

Maybe take Novas eth tstrokes and a spirit ward. See what kind of dmg that will give me.

ah so he did post a screen dont know how i missed it, but thats an amazing weapon. I might just have to make one, i imagine she does well? having to wait till 95 for a life buff is kinda meh tho. How did she play?

Doing great now, awsome dmg and speed is great.

She played well, her dmg is good throughout the game. Crafted/Rw/rare zon only spears are your friends. Diamonds in gear early on and preferably a barb/druid along for some life love.

The lvl 70 spear has decent life on it and so does Steel Pillar, so you don't have to wait until 95. It does however get much better once you are there.
It is somewhat like playing a two hand pala, you need to watch your step and be ready with the purples and a quick retreat. And ofc, that damn IM that got my first one at hell Baal.

What gear did you use from lvl 50-70?

I used death crafted sin spears mostly, silks of the victor etc.

Well, I prefer her without any of the dodging skills, they will cause you to miss alot. The attack animation goes of but you aren't actually attacking.

Used a cold merc from nm a3 mostly. But if you gonna go pure dps, then use a a2 might with a pride polearm. I'm using a a5 bear now with exe for the decrep and company up front.

No idea what my stats are like, but I guess around 80%+ vita atleast. Both dex and str add dmg to spears afaik.

I've noticed the dodge lock now ;\ thought it was just lag before. I suppose it's not a biggy just have to stop attacking and go again. Thanks for the advice utter I'll have to find something to make a blood craft out of so I can keep soloíng things until I get to the amazon crash or whatever the next spear is.

The zon only spears are your best bet, better damage, good speed and some skills on them compared to the other ones.

coolio, went with a2 merc but might switch come a5 for the merc and put heaven's on him for the conc. dodgelock is really annoying me now that you mentioned it x|

So how about the stats? How much str/dex should you base on?
