Finally, with a lot of help, I've managed to get one of my characters into NM.

I'm using an A1 cold mercenary and decided to re-hire a NM version for the extra Freezing Arrow addition to skills.

Old A1 mercenary was level 64, re-hired NM A1 mercenary was level 32

When I created a Normal game so that I could level up my mercenary I was very surprised to find that she had negative resists.

Now I've played HU for many years and have never noticed before that NM hired mercenaries have the minus to resists penalty even when they're not in NM. Has this always been the case, or has it been implemented in a recent update or patch?

Is this even worse if you hire a mercenary in Hell?

Don't want or expect anything done about it, just curious.

you dont need to hire a new merc in nm, the merc automatically starts using his new skills in nm

In norm all mercs wont use the nm skills...

Actually a merc hired in normal will not use the skills available to a nm/hell hired merc. They must be re-hired to gain access to them.
