 Post subject: important question to the modder [-%enemy res & +%skill dmg)

Hi,
in original Diablo2 neither -%enemy resistance, nore +%skill dmg count on traps, even if the screen dmg tells you something else. The hydra skill of the sorc has a special entry in the skills.txt so +% fire skill dmg counts on the hydra, but -%enemy fire resistance doesnt count, just like it doesnt count on traps.

in short words:
-% enemy resistance and +%skill dmg has no effect on traps, only +skills, lower resist curse and conviction aura increases the damage of traps
-% enemy resistance has no effect on hydra, only +%skill dmg, +skills, lower resist curse and conviction aura increases the damage of hydra


now.. is there something changed in Hell Unleashed? Because pretty much everyone uses uber topazes in their weapons on trap assasins.

i think the -% enemy resistance cant be fixed, because a trap (or a hydra) is a minion, (at least the diablo2 engine realizes them as minions) and -% enemy res will be calculated with the resistances of the monster when YOU deal damage to a monster, not a minion of you. (for example: +% enhanced damage doesnt increase the damage of druids pets or necros minions aswell..)
but the +% skill dmg thing could be fixed pretty easy, so you are sure +% skill dmg counts on traps?

yes it works all traps but one of the fire ones afaik. its just an ez text fix

You're wrong, traps get all pierce from assassins when being casted.

All fire traps get pierce.
And yes, you get all your pierce from 2 weapons, so you can get easily -110 pierce from 2 shadow killers.

Isn't a hard fix Blizzard is just lazy when it comes to fixing D2 bugs.

Or they could have noticed that with this in vanilla, trapsins (especially light versions) would be even more OP'd than a light sorc. Here the story is different...not saying blizz ain't lazy, but still they would have been extremely strong in classic LOD.

Actually it would have barely mattered as the only source of lightning pierce on Cattle.net is facets, and lightning trappers have few places they can put those.
