 Post subject: WTF is it with games dropping?!

Always seems to happen when were on baal, if the game engine cant handle the load... can we decrease the insane lag the monsters leading up to baal emit... so annoying after all that work to have the game fall out..

its due to causing mass counters, use slower attacks instead of lots of small hits. kill all summonables on the first minion as every minion in the lightning will cause charged bolts. for the second wave your ok, 3rd wave drop the summons again as they cause counters, 4th wave no summons, darkness kill all summons again as every time they hit a blade they cause f nova to be cast.

Its about knowing how to keep counters down. dont use skills like frozen orb or anything that is lots of small hits in a short time, they will drop the game every time.

Fair enough, but i thought the idea of this mod was team/group/party playing.

in which case groups dont strike in few strong hits, they strike in lots of hits, because there is, alot of them. I understand thats why the counters were made, and theyr very effective like that, but if theyr going to lag the game to the point of crash, something needs to be revised. IMO.

having 8 people all using say a 5 frame attack is no real risk of dropping a game, its when a mass of summons (skeletons are the worst) all land hits at once. say even just 8 skeles and 8 mages, thats 16 hits all at the same time, then all 4 golems and all 4 blades too, + players landing 4-5 hits a second, its just too much. a necro should always drop all skeletons for bosses and a druid should always run just dires and grizzly at most. a sin using talon kicks (at 3 fpa) + a mass of people attacking all at once can drop the game too.

Its about group play for sure, but you need startegy too. thats why there are counters. take it in turns to attack maybe 2 at a time. If a boss could just get swarmed then they would be alot easier than they are now.

However, you are right that it shouldn't be dropping games, its just how it is so you have to work around it by taking it in turns to attack either 1 or 2 at a time. I cant stress enough how any summon necro should drop the skeles for most high countering bosses. The only one you want summons on is the second minion on a baal run. (no mages vs bosses ever)

we only ever had 2 ppl attacking (zeal pali and bone necro) and necro didn't have summons other then the 1st minion, oh at for the magic guy (last minion) a lightning sorc helped with tele K. not out outrageously fast fpa really most the time the necro just amp'd.

but yeah the original was just a rage post after the incident :D we then we on to do it in single player with far more ease and no crashing (private i mean) which was cool for us, but the other 4 guys we were playing with ended up missing out, which is a shame.
