Is it viable with the melee nerf, I'm rather scared to start one.

So far it is, I made to wsk w/o problems. As I said it before reset, in skill testing thread, you can't feel melee nerf until hell as only there bosses/trash have high phys resistance, for nm any amp source would do.

Kevs jabber was a complete beast until she died by mass blizz counters from icon at nm baal.

ye, icon blizz + suffering blizz = not a good place to be for anyone. Relays barb only just made it outa that spot too. I took my eye off the ball, it could have easily been avoided if i wasn't so impatient.

as a melee, the zon is deff putting out the best DPS. (spear barb is really really good too)

not bad for 2 melee's, was taking 4 casts of decrep from spellsteel per boss to kill them with 2 melee's

Notice a decoy cast on top of baal when fighting darkness stops you getting amped / IM'd. Very handy

That's weird. My spearzon is significantly lower level and has a lot more damage.

I will say this about spearzon/jabzon: My dps is sick, but I cannot tank to save my fucking life. I get regularly 1 shot by bosses in NM (i think i got 1 shot by 4 different ones in a2), even stacking 8 starstone diamonds. I've heard others say they don't have this problem, so I dunno.

I play hc so I build for survivability over damage. all life charms, the level 70 zon pike for 50%hp and well stacked res + 24% damage reduction. You need more than just diamonds, they only take the edge off.

Edit: remember not to ever run on a melee zon, not getting hit is her bread and butter and enemys have a 100% chance to hit you when you are running regardless of defence and even level.

How does this run mechanic work? If I have run on, but I'm standing still jabbing, what happens? I mean all my attacks really make me hold still... so I don't see how this could effect. For sure though I've been 1-3 shot while standing still. What other effects does not running have? Decreased incoming dmg? Improved outgoing? Any effect on magic hit/dmg?

blocking is reduced to 1/3 also when running so you may have 75% block but you only have 25% when running and worse than 0 def. even though you are standing still attacking, as soon as the boss moves, you will run (maybe just for a split second) and it leaves you open to attack.

Do you bother using a decoy or valk with a jabber or do you invest those points elsewhere?

i maxed decoy from level 28 onwards then put 4-5 in valk.

Skill placement went like this:
max jab asap
get 1 in all passive and mag skills (not DEA) and impale + fend
max decoy and get 4-5 in valk
max strategy
rest into fend, then impale

The Ar on fend and impale are so awesome you can just leave them 1 pointed for a long time and max strategy.

I, personally, don't. At least not yet. I'm speccing in crit, the fhr/uninterruptable, and the defense/ar passives. Also I've thrown a few points into inner sight to help group members with lower AR land their hits.

20 Jab
20 Impale
20 Fend
7 Crit
15 Strategy
5 (the other one..)
5 Inner sight.

I'm still debating using decoy. I'm not convinced it will help much on bosses, and I really don't want it for trash (fend works better when surrounded).

decoy can tank any boss indefinately if you spend the points. Should last a good 15 secs before it gets killed and the cooldown is a hell of alot shorter than that. I used decoy on NM achmael and let our mercs kill him in complete safety. Also, a mana cost of 1 for a recastable tank is fantastic.

are there any viable jabzon+bowelement/jav element builds?

Maybe 20 pnts into lite fury and have it on swap? or 40 into a fire or cold arrow? it can help greatly vs trash, and vs boss you pull the spear and spellsteel out.

Does inner sight stack with amp and curses?

I used:
Tyraels
Eth destructor
Grid
Rends
Gore riders
Nos coil
Veil of steel

Worked really well, can't speak for this patch though. Full mancers weren't bad neither.
