For update, including new function disallowing nightmare and hell chars to help normal chars and hell chars to help nightmare. In other words ... Anti-Rush. Chars will still be able to create normal games to mule.

So, realm will be down for few minutes.

PvPGN is updated to 1.8.5 and Anti-Rush feature is now ON.

Realm is back online. New features are in place:

NM characters cannot join games created by Normal characters
Hell characters cannot join games created by Normal characters
Hell characters cannot join NM games created by NM characters

Normal characters can join Normal games created by either NM or Hell Characters
NM characters can join NM games created by Hell characters
Hell characters can join Normal games created by NM characters

I think that covers it

so now we just have to make specific chars to rush in each difficulty and leave them there lol. yes i like rushing some do some dont But ya no matter what you do theres always loop holes

So if you are in lets say act1 nm and your playing hc and no one is on because there are fewer people on hc, but there is a party of 4 people on a5 norm, you cant play in that game to help the team get to nm so you can have a party to progress with?

Yes, I agree with you Delta, Although this seems like an easy way to temporarily stop the rushing, i believe the unfortunate reality will be that it will cause there to even be fewer games in which to find a party. I guess we shall see :)

A month or 2 of tests then we can turn this off? Yeah I fear it may hurt HC players a lot when your mate dies and you can't help him, but well, HC players likes it hard :-)

By hard I assume you mean challenging, not ridiculous, unrealistic, and antagonistic toward team play which is what this is for HC players. You guys as community leaders should really try to balance the hardcore perspective. Some of the Hardcore players have been very loyal to this mod also throughout the years. I seriously feel worried that hc will be phased out and the loyal players and community members who play it exclusively also. This would be unfortunate and a shame to alienate that group.

Dunno who you mean by "you guys" but I must tell that was a Kev's idea too or he was supporting it from begin and he's hardcore to the bone.

If needed I will try to find a way to allow a1 nm char to be allowed joining a5 norm game only (a1 to a4 normal will be disallowed as well). Same thing for a1 hell joining a5 nm.

But for now, it will stay as it is currently.

i see this creating a big bottle neck with everyone trying to get to the next difficulity.

i also see plp teaming up and not letting some plp join cuz they dont have the right char -- or -- asking plp to leave cuz they arent the right char class.

i can see plp really getting pissed and frustrated.

the old HC play style was this.

you get a team of good players that don't goof off and say you get to act 2 nightmare before someone dies.
then everyone rushes the player who died back to act 2 nightmare. while power leveling them up.

then get to act 4 nightmare before someone dies then you just repeat the process.

now when someone dies in HC they really DIE no more rushing them back up.
unless you have a team of camping chars that sit and don't do act 5 baal and are just used to rush people back up if they die.
so the end result is HC will be even more time consuming than it once was! and also harder too with the patch comeing.
but that's why i haven't played hardcore is cause it is too time consumeing if you die. but il admit haveing an elite team that doesn't goof off which is what HC offers is nice but it just sucks if you die.

eh im pretty sure duff is the one that proposed the method of making changes to the d2gs on the old forums and few ppl backed it and it was shot down for a while.

nobody is forgetting its an sc mod but hc players have the same rights to suggest changes as sc players have. The point about hc players being behind it was because it was said that it would make hc unplayable (aka a false statement)
