The source of your image suggests something different: "heliopolis-at-baalbek" is in the link. Baalbek is in Lebanon and the heliopolis probably just means temple of the Sun.

If my reading is correct, Baal is simple an honorific and not necessarily the name of the god. Sort of like just saying the word "Lord" or God.

Baal was actually an ancient Barbarian god, and was basically the god of death and destruction. I had a class on ancient religions in college 2 years ago...

That is impressive. How the ancient people ever built something of that scale I cannot imagine. But as to how Baal (or Ba'al) came to be associated with a demon, I think it has something to do with early Christian hostility to pagan religions, and a misunderstanding of the nature of other religions' deities in the Old Testament of the Bible.

To be honest, I can't blame them. Certain sacrificial rituals acceptable in one culture will oft seem deviant or evil to another. I have heard that early Christians were sometimes accused of vampirism and cannibalism due to the description of the Eucharist.

My knowledge of ancient history is a bit rusty these days, though.

IIRC Baal was the phoenician ancient divinity of sun , rain, and storm ( skies , for doing it the shortest :P ), with some similarties with the egiptian god Ra, or even the Greek main god Zeus

But contrary to Ra, who was the "good" guy vs. his ancient foe, Set, and Zeus was an amusing philanderer god seldom flounced,
Baal was, on that way, a "bipolar" god:
Sometimes he was cool , and showed mercy with drizzle and bright sun which made grow ur the harvest. But if he was angry , he used to unleash sandstorms, flurry rains, hurricanes, locusts plagues, and all those typical wasteland natural disasters with no other effects than destroy everything in their path. Thats probably the source of D2 baal surname "Lord of Destruction"

Ever think think of why did ancient people (or who/whatever) build stuff using these enormous blocks? It's not like people we're really unimaginative at the time this was built, someone must have had the thought of stacking smaller blocks?

How would that be moved??

Sure thing, but they used bigger things to show the supremacy of their divinities.
Bigger temples with bigger rocks -> stronger powers
Little stones were for the losers

Or at least that was what they thought.

possible answers:

a) people from a future age helped them.

b) those are, actually, ancient ruins from aliens who came to our planet milleniums ago. Our ancestors venered alien citizens coz they got bizarre appearance and plasma guns.

c) thousands of peasants and/or slaves working at once to accomplish their god's/king's/pharaos' desires, with the help of wheel and lever.

d) that huge rock was already there. They just sculpted it .
