 Post subject: Problems with Iron Maiden (OSKILL)

For some reason I'm not allowed to select Iron Maiden from my skills list when I equip this wand.

I had my friend equip it as a Necromancer, and he did not get the bonuses from it as well.

its a problem with the items that Soulmancer hasn't fixed. That wand isn't supposed to have oskill Iron Maiden which is why it won't work. As to why they spawn with it - that I don't know.

Just sell those wands, can't do anything else with them.

Last I heard about this issue, it's related to the curses monsters are allowed to cast. Your wands are actually +MonCurse (not necro curse).

Soulmancer modified curses from monsters so that they were weaker than the versions players used. However, it turned out that Blizzard's hard-coding programers messed up and were using line numbers in the skill.txt file in order to determine what curses the monsters used, and what curses appeared on Necro wands. This means that while necros can be configured to cast "Curse number 418" (taken from skills.txt) intead of IronMaiden, wands were hard-coded to spawn with "Line number 78 from Skills.txt, regardless of whether it's blank, an aura, or whatever." This was becuause D2 was never designed with Mods in mind. It was simply re-vamped v1.10 to support modding (but with bugs).

Line 78 is the modified version of IM used by monsters.

Same story with LifeTap.

Monsters really do cast the same AmpDamage as necros, so that curse was never messed with, and will spawn on wands properly.
