whenever i walk up and click deckard cain the game crashes. happened out of the blue after working for a week with no issues. says unhandled exception : access_violation (c0000005). im using D2SE and totally re-installed the mod and its still not working.

in fact i re-installed whole game from discs. still crashing at deckard cain...

Try restarting your computer before starting up D2.
For a while I was having the same issue as you, and I even thought I had tracked it down to whether or not I had opened any .pdf documents earlier, but the problem didn't occur consistently enough for me to figure it out. For me the problem cause might have also been related to restarting D2 with constantly changing text files.
Restarting the computer consistently solved the issue.

also i had crashing when using wps or leaving town in any way. doing reg clean and deleting temp folders and a restart solved the issue. i assume doing this on a regular basis will keep me from crashing. just good to know for anyone having these issues.
