I'm having issues getting HU working on my brothers laptop. I've tried reinstalling multiple times to no avail... I'm starting to get frustrated. I'm using D2SE, and I will list my install method below.

1. Install D2 + LOD via digital installer (into Program Files x86)
2. Make copy of D2 folder on Desktop
3. Install D2SE into desktop folder
4. Extract core and HighResFull into MODS folder and HU folder, respectively.
5. I then set D2SE.exe, Game.exe, and Diablo II.exe to run as admin and in compatibility mode for Windows XP.
6. Start D2S3, Start Mod, and then it gives me the same error every time it attempts to connect to battle.net. (arimyth)

I've tried so many times and I can't understand. I installed the game the same way on my Win7 desktop with absolutely NO issues. Why can't I get this to work? PLEASE HELP!!

- Jeremy

it's your firewall, 100% sure, server doesn't check your version by any means, heck, you can even log in without HU or with LoD 1.07.
only by joining someone's online game you can check if you have everything OK

does it spit out an error? if so, what does it say (i doubt i know what the error is, but maybe somebody does).

a few things i noticed, never disabled desktop decomposition or visual themes in the properties of the shortcut. what version did you actually get (i know what steel said, but did you downgrade or upgrade to 1.10, i recall issues with reverting unless do in a particular way...i think the reference is in the FAQ by PureRage)?

edit: i also don't see where you ran D2ModSetup. you didn't miss this did you?
i don't use D2SE so i am not really of any help there.

d2se is there to help you be able to use multiple mods and multiple d2 version all thru the same launcher. theoretically the version should be the last of my issues. i have a dekstop with win7 and have had no such issues but i've done a reinstall 4 times on the laptop with no such luck

getting the error when i attempt to connect to arimyth "unable to identify game version" or w/e
