(chrissy not me) so she downloaded the patch, put it in her hu registry, overwrite what it asks to, ran d2modsetup.bat , and is running hu in -direct -txt -w she cannot join games or create them, just keeps getting fail to join, and in single player her i heard of a person or 2 having the same problem but dont know the fix, is there something she missed or can do to fix it? or anything to try? |

It happened to me and my brother too after installing the mod. I don't quite remember how I fixed it though.. try to spam d2modsetup to install it properly, maybe? Remove and install a few times. |

thanks, she tried that and it didnt work, shes just gonna delete all her d2 n hu stuff and do a clean install etc |

If it's the same problem has mine, anti virus or something on computer won't let you extract the dll with regedit. So what i did is open a command window in admin mods, then cd to your diablo ii files. Then do the lines you see in d2modsetup.bat. Something like : run32dll d2mod.dll d2modsetup ( cant remember exactly the line) |

im having the same problem. I dont wanna have to do a clean install and i didnt understand what hinky said. any other suggestions? please and i want to play hc right from the start, do i have to beat norm in sc first? |

are you running win 7? if so you need to install into c:\diablo2 not in program files or a games folder. win7 security features wont allow the dlls and registry edits to work right. also make sure you are running in compatibility mode for win xp and running as an administrator. win7 blocks some net connections and admin mode will allow the connections to pass through. hope this helps |

dew i took straight from my laptop, put on my desktop in a random folder, ran d2modsetup and it worked (this was before this patch but its still the same folder), no admin mode or anything. but i get what you mean and these things can help. |

i am having the same problem. i keed failing to join or create. i put -direct and -txt in the porperties for the shortcut but it didnt work. can you out the above directions or any other suggestions on how to fix this? thanks |
