Ok, so I've searched the forums and this doesn't see to be that common of a problem as I couldn't find a solution very easily. But basically the game crashes when I enter a new area. But it doesn't happen all the time. It just happens at specific places. The game works fine up until i enter somewhere andariel's chamber (first instance but was able to go in 2nd time). Now I'm stuck on act 2 because whenever i go into lvl 1 palace cellar the game just freezes and i crash to desktop. I'm running windows 7. Is there a fix for this? I've tried uninstalled d2. then doing a clean install with still no results. |

Are you running it in compatibility mode? Also the exact crash messages would likely be a help as well. |

Can you gear your merc just like chars? if not then you have not installed d2mod correctly - make sure you install d2 anywhere but not in program files and run d2modsetup(should get no error). |

The merc gear is like it should be. There is no error message really it just freezes and I have to use task manager to stop the process. |

So I tried uninstalling/reinstalling into root C: and running compatibility mode/video test etc etc all to no avail. Seems like this happens whenever specific areas are reached such as palace level 1, mephisto's sanctum, andarials chamber etc... any ideas/suggestions? I'm all out of ideas atm. |

In your HU directory is a(t least 1) file called D2yymmdd.txt, but with actual date Make sure there isn't one for today yet, crash your game, open the logfile and post the contents please |
