Since upgrading to 1.3b beta of HU, I've had NUMEROUS crashes due to this, from doing anything from trying to id an item, in town or fighting, to just trying to enter a new zone. This was present after the data folder update, as well as after a clean install, and straight to 1.3b full patcher. I am running -txt and -direct as the arguments for shortcut if it mattered. Below is the error information, if it helps at all:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: Diablo II.exe
Application Version: 1.0.0.1
Application Timestamp: 3f9f275c
Fault Module Name: D2Common.dll
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 3f7cb6cb
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 0004fa14
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 4105
Additional Information 1: 0b6a
Additional Information 2: 0b6af1857b0968de2a9b54c747507648
Additional Information 3: 1df9
Additional Information 4: 1df9ca06e3fb8672e95495a85ad53bff

EDIT: SOLVED! Apparently it's a resolution bug, more info farther down.

Happening on a paladin, amazon, and a druid so far, in that order for most common occurrence.

edit: also happening on necro now.

Still occurring, hoping it's just a small mistake somewhere on my end, as it's getting near impossible to play a decent length game now.

Do you have any Data folder including some old patch/fixes ?
If so, you should try to remove it and try the full beta1 install.

no data folder, reinstalled beta1, it is happening less now, mostly whenever i try to move, or mouseover items in inventory, from potion to unidentified randoms.

Would the inventory crashes happen to be while you are playing druid and asn by any chance? Some inventory offsets for those 2 classes were somewhat off and it's causing a random crash problem.

Nah, it has been happening most on my necromancer, seems to happen most along bottom inventory row, with random items, in different spots.

edit: I'm using the loader dod-purerage posted a while ago, might that have anything to do with it?

Hm... that's strange... there shouldn't be any crashes atleast in the 1024 res mode. Do you happen to use the 1200 res by any chance?

Yeah, 1280x768, might that be causing the issue then? I can try playing the lower if it'll fix the issue.

There's independent inventory offset settings for each profession and each resolution (meaning there's 14 sets of inventory offsets). Unfortunately the inventory offset work Ki4m did was sloppy and this leads to random crashes in the inventory. I tightened up the offsets for the original 5 professions on the lower resolution myself but forgot to hit druids/asns on the lower resolution as well before distributing the patch.

try this fixed inventory.txt:
http://www30.zippyshare.com/v/1704084/file.html
put the file into:
"your HU folder"\data\global\excel

(moved some equipped items a little, and fixed placing items out of inventory)
hope its bug free now...
