Hey guys. I'm trying to install HU on my other comp, and I got 1.10 working. After copying all the HU files to the diablo 2 folder, when I try to run the D2Mod Setup I'm met with an error: "Cannot find required dll. If Diablo is running you cannot setup this mod. Quit Diablo and try again" Diablo isn't running though. Which dll is it looking for particularly? I checked and they all seem to be there... Thanks in advance. |

Open cmd.exe , cd to the d2 folder (unless it's in program files) and paste (or type) the following: rundll32 .\d2mod.dll,D2ModSetup Should let you see what is missing. |

Hey Zorax, thanks for your response- Zorax wrote: cd to the d2 folder (unless it's in program files) what does cd stand for? not compact disc... right? lol when I try entering "rundll32 ./d2mod.dll,D2ModSetup" into cmd I get the error: "Error loading ./d2mod.dll", but I see that file in my d2 folder. EDIT: I think I should add that ever since trying to install D2SE on this comp everything has went ape-shit and it's taken me this long to even get Vanilla to work... I completely removed/uninstalled everything and reinstalled. |

Not sure, if you kidding. But cd is a windows command to move through folders in cmd.exe. When you type the command is you're cmd.exe positionned in the d2 folders? |

Ok, I CD'd to my d2 folder and entered that command, then I was met with the same error. The error also says: "If Diablo is running you cannot setup this mod. Quit Diablo and try again" But Diablo isn't running.. I went to 'processes' in the task manager to verify |

There no hints in the cmd windows about the missing dll file? |

no, doesn't say anything in the cmd window, just goes to a new blank line. Just opens the alert/error which appears to be coming from the D2Mod Setup. I've tried re-extracting the HU files again to make sure they're all there.. |

What's your OS on that machine. Where is D2 installed(if progfiles then move it from there). Are you running admin acc? |

On your second attempt, in the right directory, did you use a / or a \ in the command? edit: Also what Steel said, the previous mentioned program files, you're not trying to install in there? |

OS: Vista D2 is installed in Program Files (where should I move it to then?) I believe the acc I'm on is the admin, will double check when I get back home. If not, running as admin will accomplish the same task though, no? Zorax wrote: On your second attempt, in the right directory, did you use a / or a \ in the command? Yea, I did it both ways, seemed to work the same either way (got the same error). |
