So i get a sweet error message everytime the graphic for the tornado shows up, asked a couple of guys for advice and we didn't get anywhere. Did a fresh full reinstall and still the same error came up. Luckily they managed to get past the canyon and dury without me, but needless to say its pretty annoying to not be allowed in the room with Mythia, Hellforge Dragon, etc.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

my error is much like this one someone else had earlier only instead of oxTRlitNUhth it just says Tornado, also the advice there did not work hence the repost

Any hints in D2yymmdd.txt? (This logfile is located in your d2 directory)

What OS are you using? (I remember a post about the location of your d2dir on w2007, since it's more protective for Program Files and such)

Are you using modified files in <d2dir>\data\global\Excel directory? (skills.txt or missiles.txt maybe?)

found that file, (there were 3 of them) couldn't make heads or tails of them.

using vista.

and there is no such data folder in my d2 directory.

Just informed i could download an mpq viewer and try to switch the graphic with something else in missles.txt, might try that one.

What is the location of your d2 directory? (did you do the extra steps needed for installation on vista? running d2modsetup.bat as admin or whatever the steps are)

You can delete the mentioned logfiles, so that next time you start, it starts a new log.
Could you paste that log here?

uhhhh the location is C:\Program Files (x86)\Diablo II

and no, I didn't do anything differnt for vista. I searched for "vista" when i started having problems getting diablo installed and running but nothing came up that related.
I just tried running d2modsetup.bat as admin and got an error message:

Error loading .\d2mod.dll

The specified module could not be found

thats odd...
