Hi guys,

I just got a new laptop and installed d2/HU. Everything seems to be working ok, but I'm not sure how to get the game to stretch to fit the widescreen monitor (about 2" black bar on both the left and right). Also, is there a known issue with nvidia graphics and diablo? For some reason my laptop is choosing to use the intel integrated graphics instead of my brand spanking new NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 2GB.

Thanks for any help! I'm on Windows 7 (64bit) FYI. Let me know if you need more info.

You can't, at least not without hacks/extra d2mod plugin. Keep in mind if you stretch 800x600(4:3) to 1360x768(16:9) or whatever you have it there, it will look even more outdated.

2gb for that card? Nvidia put extra memory everywhere it seems.
http://www.notebookcheck.net/ATI-Mobili ... 825.0.html or any other, at least less power consumption if you care about that.

Are you saying that you want the black on the sides or no?...cuz I would like to have them on the wide screen monitor that I bought today...it just seems strange that most older games will force it to a 'box', and on here the damn thing is stretched out (win7, too). It looks atrocious. Guess I will have to play on the secondary monitor or deal with stretchiness.

No way for the windowed mode to be a specific size, either i suppose?

Yeah I wanted to see what it looks like stretched out a bit, but I guess I'll take your word for it that it looks ugly.

My monitor actually has a setting where it'll play the game always in the monitor's native resolution(meaning it'll stretch the images out, not create more space), or you can play it in the applications resolution(the black bars).

You don't want the shit to get stretched out it looks like garbage.

Depending what driver you use, you may have options in the category "Aspect Ratio Options".

On my laptop I can choose between Maintain Aspect Ratio (no stretching no bars), Full Screen (stretching) and Center Desktop (no stretching but with black bars).

I've fiddled with my monitor, and where i 'should' be able to mess with the aspect ratio, it is grayed out...wth? do i have to have a vga plugin spot to fix to 4:3? My nvidia drivers (9800 gtx+) are also supposedly up to date...
