Hi,

1. Trying to get HU to work on Windows 10 but I cannot find or install DirectDraw (error msg about failure to initialize it when I try to launch HU).

2. D2SE 1.6c will run flawlessly, but I cannot find a working hero editor for it. The error:
"Diablo install path not found
You must reinstall Diablo or Edit the registry and set the key...
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Blizzard Entertainment\Diablo II\InstallPath
To match your install directory"

I have tried reinstalling and fixing the registry key no success.

Help is greatly appreciated :)

Where do you have it installed, and is the path read by the hero editor fixed, or can it be changed?

Why do you want direct draw when you have the glide wrapper?

You can also get direct draw errors if the graphics card drivers conflict. (i had this often on another game when launching).

When installing, did you run the video test? It should test all graphics options available.

*Installed in C:\ . Tried to change the path but the editor will not accept it for some reason.

*I am trying to launch the game in 3dfx glide (only option available in the video test as well), not direct draw, but I get error messages about direct draw and the game will not launch.

*Updated drivers, same issue. How did you solve it?

Hm. I don't think that I have seen it not detect the first two settings.
Did you fully install Vanilla LoD before HU?
What are you installing from, a hard copy or a digital version...and which patch version.
