Hey guys,

Iv played D2 forever, im new to HU but iv never died in town before  ........ so i was playing through act 5 and i needed to go do somthing so i logged out of game then logged back into game so i could keep the map cuz i had run through a couple places.... so i come back 30 min later and im logged out. so i figure okay maby i lost connection. i log in and my necro who was sitting in town when i left is now dead :? This wouldnt be a big issue except its HC so hes now wearing a robe...

Has this ever happend before? im 100% i was in town as i had just rejoined the game and didnt move. Kinda sucks since it was my first and only HC guy. Just trying to solve the mystery...

Cheers,

Simmie

If u have items with drain life then it is possible to die in town? i didn't try it yet so i don't know for sure. maybe someone in sc could check it, cuz dying is not a big deal there.

drain life will take you to 1 life, just like psn. It will only kill a merc in town.

Townshot by an act 1 merc?

Was it a passworded game? (with the pass being something other than "1" or "q" etc)

As he said he only joined the game and then went afk that would be impossible.

2 other players could have joined the game, 1 player hostiles the other players, stands in front of town entrance and have the act 1 merc fire an arrow at oak sage (or whatever) of the second joining player, misses the target and continues into town and hit an unexpecting victim.

Or at least that's what I read on the subject of bnet townkilling. I'm not saying this is what caused simmie's char to die, but how is it impossible?

Ya PureRage is correct i was at the top of the stairs in act 5. Only thing i can think of is when i left the game to relog back in town it lagged and i died but it somehow let me rejoin game if thats even possible. Cuz once i rejoined the game i didnt move. wasnt a passworded game. Oh well no point in beatin a dead horse it happens :) just means i get to try a new character.

Cheers,

Simmie

It's impossible cause you are too far away no matter which act you are in.

Sorry I missed the part about being in town in act 5 (I guess I should have posted that the second I had the chance...) , that obviously makes a difference.
