i think blade shield does take into effect DS/OW/CB. I wouldnt rely on it though... the range on blade shield is barely 1, which is like using a dagger. you basically need to be touching the monster for it to have effect, and i think you wouldnt even be close enough with smite. The other thing blade shield is good for (im pretty sure these mechanics do exist here in HU, but check with someone else in case) is that it doesnt cause counters.

can't be much closer than smite, so don't think that would be the case, but its a good way to double your CB right? or at least have cb come into effect more often.

if you are close enough to anything with bladeshield and attacking at the same time, your durability gets totaly raped in no time. I noticed it with my wwsin, I would have to repair 140 dura claws sometimes 3 times in 1 tundra run, its that bad. Considering I let death sentry deal most of the killing its pretty shocking just how fast you will lose durability.

It don't cause counters like muleofal says.

well since I'm a smiter, I'm just doing bosses most of the time, Just looking for a quicker take down, but it sounds like this will help, pretty expensive experiment if it doesn't work.

Just so you know, blade sentry will cause portals not to spawn... so be careful what your killing. You may want to think twice about using blade sentry as a prebuff before fighting certain bosses.

mhm, and same goes for the holy auras. because they dont cause counters, portals wont spawn if these skills do the killing. the game mechanics of the portal on boss spawn acts like an on-death counter.
