1.41D is complete. The files have been sent to Duff so all that is left is for the reset to happen again. As of yet I can't say exactly when it will be, this all depends on how soon he's able to do it.

Thank God, hopefully there will be servers to play on too. Was it ever stated if this was going to be a full complete reset or just an update that breaks some characters?

Since this mod is beyond worthless now I'm just going to uninstall if the patch/servers aren't fixed tomorrow. My friend will probably be doing the same.

I made that comment 2 days ago and the next day they said the patch was done, so yes, I'm still here, lol. And it would be really nice if this would go live tonight or tomorrow.

It would but it's out of everyone's hands except for Duff. He's probably pretty busy and hasn't logged into this site for 2 weeks, so we could be waiting a few hours or a few days, or a few weeks.

All we can do is be patient.

Most of us waited months until we had news of 1.4 being in the works. Look at how many people came back for it.

It seems to me, that he HU community is extremely patient, and stubborn.

I guess my point is not to get your hopes up for it to happen as soon as possible and maybe to quell the "when is reset" questions that almost everyone ends up inevitably having. All too often here people get upset because things don't happen according to one's schedule.

And some people don't have time at all or don't really care. Again, Duff is the one hosting so it's whenever he can/does. If you don't like waiting, go find something else to do.

Does nobody have his number or something to tell him to just go click the upload and reset button?

Not to be a jerk here, but I really doubt all this would take more than 10 minutes to do. Don't hate me for this comment, but that's what I think.

It's not as simple as "click a button, resets all in 10 minutes". It's a process that takes a few hours, he has to upload it to the realm and then have each server host upload it to the servers as well before it can be done.

If it only takes 10 min, then by all means, set up your own servers and start being the realm admin for us. Coordinate between the other people that run the servers, etc. FFS people. Go outside or something.

^

There is also other stuff that needs to be done to ensure game hosts are using the correct patch and don't modify any game files to differ from the correct version at any point over the year. All character data needs to be wiped, all account data needs to be wiped, the ladder needs to be wiped. Servers need to have a test run to make sure there are no crashes happening (D2GS is a fickle beast sometimes).

Duff has been hosting for 8+ years now and has kept the mod going over that time. Not for money, or fun (He doesn't play). These things take time and I don't think complaints are really warranted considering.

Try to be patient. Read a book, draw something or learn something new.

Good tips for those who have not much time to play hu like half day.
Eat very light so you will need only sleep 5 hours or less. This can take 1 week to takes desired result of cuting regular 8 hours sleep to 5.

;)

You're gonna extract your mpq's, alter the files needs, rebuild the mpq's, rewrite your mod.ini and server.ini's, then possibly update the core, reprogram the gateway/2 servers/ a few remote hosts, all in 10 minutes......sounds reasonable.

Sounds to me like he will kill his entire evening working on a game he doesn't play anymore. This will be how many times in the past 2 months he's had to do it? Give the guy a break, or pick someone out of the handful of people offering to host, to host the gateway also.
