Everyone needs to update their core files for 1.41d.

Traditional Installation (Non D2SE users)
==================================

This is the correct order from disc installation :
1- Install Diablo II 1.00
2- Install Diablo II LoD which is 1.07
3- Install LoDPatch_110.exe which is 1.10 -> http://files.arimyth.com/HU/LODPatch_110.exe (also included with core)
4- Install NonD2SE_HU_Core_1.41d_Core (See Below)
5- Download your prefered Client (See below) and extract to your Diablo II folder
6- Run D2ModSetup, be sure it asks to INSTALL



D2SE Install Instructions

1- Download the D2SE_Hell Unleashed_1.41d_Core (See below)
2- Extract to your MODS folder
3- Download your prefered Client (See below) and extract to your "Hell Unleashed 1.41" folder
4- Run D2SE and start the game.

There is no such file, or did i miss something?

I downloaded the game from my bnet account, which makes it version 1.12.
Installed the game, then downpatched it to 1.10.
Downloaded the D2SE_core and extracted it directly into the main folder.
(so Hell Unleashed 1.41 folder is in there)
Extracted the lite client into that exact folder.

I have no D2SE, the only thing close to this is: D2SE_SETUP.ini

I guess the executeable is missing.

@visuv, D2SE is a seperate mod managing program you would have to download and install and then you place it into the mods folder.

Someone needs to check the non-d2se files bc I cant get it to display properly after installing.


Maybe I need the low-res version of this please. Its unplayable for me as is.

I don't use d2se, and was able to download the new files, and copy everything over, then run modsetup.bat and it function fine. Are you using glide? I'm not, but I've had issues with it.

non d2se installation should work fine, i played several hours now.

Couldn't get the mod manager version going, strangely.

No problems occured with the D2SE installation, although I have a personal issue with the release. Why is there no LowRes version of the mod no more? I know I'm probably one of the few who prefer LowRes over HighRes, but still... Does anyone have a workaround so I can play on 800x600? Thanks in advance.

I put the video test on each of the 3 settings on my windows xp machine. The login screen and character screen displayed all weird and not lined up correctly.

Then I used my windows 7 machine installed d2, copied over patch 110, put in core nond2se, then full and the login screen displayed properly but arimyth wasnt a realm option and it kept saying "unable to identify version" at start screen. I put it in compatibility mode for xp and ran as administrator.

I don't care which version I get to work, high res low res, I just wanna start playing. I am using nvidia GeForce GTX 680 graphics card.

I will try installing the d2se version tonight and test.

I am using Windows 7 64 bit with a GTX 680 also, Delta. Just try using D2SE. mine looked just like that at first too and then I simply had to create a new d2modsetup.bat and run it and then it worked on D2SE.

when you say you created a new d2modsetup.bat can you explain that more? also i am assuming you ran in compatibility mode for xp?

Delta,

Just open a command window console (cmd in the search bar) as an admin.
Use command : cd C:/Diablo II/ (or whatever the path to your folder is)
Type the command : rundll32 .\D2Mod.dll,D2ModSetup (not sure of how this is written) right click on d2modsetup.bat and modify it to see the correct command.

This should pretty much do the job.

When I run Hell Unleashed.bat, it says it was unable to detect a disk in my CD drive.. I shouldn't need a disk.. What did I do wrong?
I used my valid keys from my battle.net account.
I tried download a .iso and mounting it, but I still get the same thing..

I may have forgotten my username and pass to log on to my account once I have it installed, is there a process I can do to retrieve my name and pass? I haven't played in 6+ months

What version of diablo are you running? The mod only works with 1.10. You can get around needing a disc, but your info doesn't make clear if you are on 1.10 or 1.13.

Graphics are messed up as the previous user was explaining, I tried using the remedy mentioned by another member, but to no avail.
What am I doing wrong?

This is all really frustrating..
If someone would help me over teamviewer, I would greatly appreciate it.
I have all the files in a folder ready to go so it wouldn't take long. If you're willing to help please in this manner please message me!


run it in compatibility for windows xp and 640x480. That fixed the color and alignment being off for me.

Now, to run it fullscreen borderless? Cause whenever I alt+tab, or minimize, it's a pain in the ass.

Hello, I mightn eed help for downpatched my diablo(not using d2se),when I try to download your patch in step 3,it tells me that my diablo is already more patched then what I need, can someone send me the link for a zip.rar folder?

OH! and whenever I try It always send me a error , d2cmp/src/celcmp.ccp line 1399, it happens when I open my inventery or my chest(bank)

Then you are on a patch later than 1.10.
I believe the 1.10 files are given in one of the two links.
Put those in your folder before the actual hell unleashed files.

I've been encountering map issues. I use D2SE, and I downloaded the lite version. It has only happened in A5, but it happens frequently. Basically, I load the wrong map I guess?

For example, when I tried to enter Baal's room, my druid was stuck in black air surrounded by candles. I couldn't move at all. Similar things have happened in White Dragon's room and Arreat Summit. It seems to be related to servers somehow? I seem to only encounter this issue on Furycury server while Naz has only encountered it outside of Furycury's.

Any idea on how to fix this? I've tried re-downloaded the mod twice, and I still run into this issue. Has anyone else had this problem?

Last I heard, there was an issue with the FULL package, but LITE was working. I always use lite, not ran into any issues with it yet.

Yes, I encounter those problems too. Most annoying problem is the Anya Quest due to people being placed inside the black void ( black area inside of the entering island ). Baal's Room and Arrea Summit seem to be "bugged" due to different map bounds, that don't fit the sprite/texture of the rooms anymore.

If you have map issues and you're running the full version, redownload here and your map issues are fixed. Lite patch doesn't have this problem.

Can I update the game simply by moving the d2patch.mpq and other files, into my HU folder and replacing the current files?
And then uninstalling with d2modsetup, and installing again with d2modsetup?

I'm really enjoying this so far. I prefer to play solo therefore i have serious issues with bosses. Are there plans to release a solo version as you did with previous builds?

Can someone please write an in-depth guide on how to install? Whenever I do it word-to word as described on the first post of this thread, things go haywire.

More notably, from the downloadable D2 game from battle.net? Those are the only ones I have, I lost my disk long ago.

However, I tried it again today, and HU opened, but when I clicked connect, it said it could not connect to battle.net, even when the realm displayed was Arimyth. What could the problem be?

It's not hard, especially if you just buy new box and use D2SE. Not much to explain other than install disks, downgrade patch, download d2se, download hu, put in the mod folder.....

Just installed and I get this message when launching the game.

NewLoader.exe - Unable To Locate Component

This application has failed to start because MSVCR100.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Need better install instructions. Followed what i nomrally do and it didnt work. So I moved files to a new folder and replaced files with a new install of Diablo 2 LOD. Downloaded the LoDPatch_110.exe and says my version is a higher version? It isnt? Continued to extract NonD2SE_HU_Core_1.41d_Core.exe and then extracted the HU_1.41d_Client_Full.exe to the installed folder. I run the d2modsetup.bat and it still doesnt work. What am I doing wrong?

I notice there is no data folder?

OK i have been away awhile and was trying to get back up and running, I am not a computer guy and seem to always struggle with getting the patches etc to work. I have D2Se with windows XP, I followed the installation instructions and everytime I try to talk to Charsi the program locks up and i get some sort of D2Common\ITEMS\Items.cpp.line#1656 error . Cant seem to figure this out anyone else have this issue?
