Is this a very challenging and time consuming thing to do? I wouldn't be doing it but I am curious. I have seen a number of mmo's have server emulation software develope that allows you to not only run a private server but mod/add content...

I was looking at Lunia or Dungeon Fighter Online as a server/mod project if such software was ever developed for either game... As it stands now, any Lunia server projects are on hold and none are started for DFO...

Get me some good software to run a server that I can mod/add content...and I'll make some good shit out of either of those engines.

well I'm not really interested in that so much- I am looking onward tro future projects- but it seems people rarely want to help out with the technical side of things.

guildwars had some along time back , they used it for holiday special stuff, halloween, xmas........etc. it just modded server, and during the six months i played the game the fuckin thing must have updated 100 times.

that being said , some of the early stuff had open source codes.

My buddy just asked me for help for making a custom MMORPG. Was going to tell you about it Soulmancer.

The makers of Savage II are releasing a developers toolkit to allow you to take their game and customize it and mod it for all types of custom things. Quests, graphics, characters, spells, items. Really anything. I don't know much about it yet, as I've never played the game, but my buddy was telling me about it.

Looking more into this. The SDK for Savage 2 ius already available... But they're releasing a new game called Heroes of Newerth utilizing the same engine as savage 2 and a new SDK that will seemingly be more powerful then the current one for Savage 2... This is very intruiging.
