Why in this mod assassin skills Fist of Fire, Claws of Thunder and Blades of Ice don't build up 2 charges with 2 claws equipped, only 1 charge? It's because old 1.10 version of DIablo 2? How fix it? |

I'm trying edit skills.txt for fix that, but every time i have extended column problem on d2txtanalyser, than save txt file by some d2txt edit tools: extracted from patch_d2.mpq : Data\Global\Excel\Skills.txt ERROR : line 2 has 114 columns. Expected : 44 ERROR : line 3 has 114 columns. Expected : 44 ERROR : line 4 has 114 columns. Expected : 44 ERROR : line 6 has 114 columns. Expected : 44 ERROR : line 7 has 114 columns. Expected : 44...etc What's the problem, what tool can edit patch_d2.mpq single player version of this mod? (HU solo 1.21z) |

I made my own python program to spell-check the files, and create some simple web pages based on their contents. One of the more effective modding strategies is to just make a small change and experiment with the effects in-game. It takes quite a long time, but there is not always accurate documentation for how to change the text-files, so you don't have many choices.what tool can edit patch_d2.mpq ... I use Ladik's MPQ editor to decompress an mpq file into it's files, and then edit the files using Open Office Calc (but MS Excel should work fine too). Make sure to configure your editor so that it understands that the text files are "tab-delimitated", and that when saving the file it should not store anything but text (no special spreadsheet functions, fonts, etc). Kevin, aka Purerage, posted a basic section of links that should be of use. http://forum.arimyth.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4282 Start there, you'll likely as not find the answers you need. For editing .txt files, D2excel works as well iirc, that is. |
