I haven't played since May of 2010. I thought I'd come back and try it out. 1) Are most people playing on single player or multiplayer? I'd like to start playing HC on multiplayer. Can you usually find someone to play with? 2) If the closed servers are pretty dead, I'll probably just play single player. Is there a difference in difficulty between the Solo version and the Multiplayer version? |

Can you usually find someone to play with? Donno about single player... I play HC multi- norm usually isn't too hard to find a group right now. there are several new players starting up. NM is a bitch to find a team for, unless you can stick with your team that you advanced from norm with. HC population in general is actually doing quite well right now compared to the past. As long as you have the active players on your /f list its easy to find people to play with at almost all hours (that means playing with the polish dudes who barely speak english, but they're still decent players  )Still, my recommendation (as always) is to bring another person you can depend on since having a duo is infinitely better than trying to solo, and will prevent you from getting stuck. Whether or not you have a buddy, msg me (*slappynuts) and we'll kill some shit |

Don't forget that in HC Fire Shrines ( nowadays called Lee Shrines in Bob server and Slappy/Imp games, fuck those cheaters ) activate a 5 min. buff that makes you impervious to any kind of dmg. except poison, but only if you are below half of your total HP. Otherwise, it does the normal devastating effect. |

Finally got around to installing D2 again. First off, I'm 99% sure the high-res mod wasn't around last time I played (2009). This is amazing. I don't have the option to create a HC character, so I'm assuming I need to finish normal SC first. Might not be a bad idea, considering I don't really remember much about this mod at all. Regardless, I'm *Tommy. Feel free to add me. |

Well if you wanna play hc right away, you might want to try this : Ares wrote: run -->regedit -->HKEY_CURRENT_USER-->Software-->Blizzard Entertainment--->Diablo II
in this folder make a dword 32bit called "AllowHardcore" and set it to 1 |

It allows me to make HC chars now, but whenever I join or create a game, D2 crashes. It works fine on SC (multiplayer and singleplayer). Only HC. Back to troubleshooting... |
