 Post subject: Some questions for melee paladin

Hey guys I'm a newbie. I play slowly with 2 friends, not in a rush. So please give advice for a level 30 character not getting 36 skills soon.

1. Between Lightning Aura and Concentration which is better for paladin with both maxed? It seems the auras add more dmg than concentration even with only Zeal.

2. I'm trying to make a melee Paladin. Potentially, which is stronger Zeal or Vengeance?

3. Also how do I choose my items? Should I try to get the greens or just get uniques?

Thanks!

Btw right now I'm using level 25 Zeal, 1 Concentration and the rest to Sacrifice.

why is that? i'm currently having mana problems but the damage output is great. what aura should i combo with zeal?

hi guys extra question. how come i get 60+ stat points on my extra new character? i'm playing a new one with another friend so he has someone to play with from the start. how do i not get the 60+ points? thanks.

everyone gets 60 stat points, theres no way of avoiding that

ohhh. so i just ran the d2modsetup.bat and now he got 60 extra points too. i didn't run d2modsetup.bat before i made my level 33 char. is there a way to get the 60 extra points now? or do i need to restart him at level 1? dang!

sounds like SP, just use an editor like UDieToo to add the points back

He likely just started with the original 1.10 paladin stats, so adding another 60 stats might be a little overboard. Basically when you start a new character on a properly installed HU character it sets all your stats to 5 so you can customize where you wanna spend your 60 points.

Honestly melee paladins are in pretty rough state this patch. They can do well enough going pure physical for norm/NM but you'll fall off big time once hell rolls around.

Forget vengeance and the elemental builds. Shit when I think of it paladins have been in a pretty bad spot for a patch or two now. Hammers/FoH or a healer are pretty much your top paladin builds now. Holy fire + a bow with exploding arrow gets an honorable mention though. That can still put out the DPS nicely especially early on.

I've been thinking for a while that holy shock, freeze and fire should maybe be castable (1 at a time only though), so you can run convic with them (its BS having your most helpful aura remove 90% of your damage)
Veng needs some love for sure, and i'd like it to be more of a trashing build than single target.
Possibly having blessed aim effect enemies (with the ar etc being a passive buff for the user) with -enemy phys res on it. Nothing too major, like -skill level.
For zealers, that would make a use for those spare 18-20 points you end up with late game, and give em a choice of speed/dmg/ar from fana or lifesteal and phys pierce from tap. (I'd deff max both)
