Kill counter. It is just an idea...
I would like to know how many monsters fall into the dust by my hands.
Is it possible?

If yes, maybe there would be so great a "summary counter" from the beginning, and a "game counter" what will be reseted in every new games.

Just for fun... :)

What do you think?

haha I always loved that about dynasty warriors, at the end of a 2 hour battle and you've slain 3000 dudes it feels pretty awesome

Team Fortress 2 has counter's on certain items' which I think is pretty awesome. Would probably be something modding couldn't do though.

I had another epiphany regarding this idea. It would not only be great to keep track of the total number of monsters slain by a certain char, but also to note who absolutely kills NOTHING and just follows behind the whole game. That way I wouldn't have to make screenshot compilations of people hiding in corners lol

kill counter is super easy, can also have it count only kills within a certain level range of your own (kills only counter vs enemies 5 levels under you or above for example.

It's also possible to give gold per kill/stats per kill etc..
and killcounter can count the kills of the merc too if it's hardcoded(d2mod plugin)

So would it be possible to have certain weapons display the amount of kills you have with it on the screen?

I'm so glad to hear this :D
Are there any possibility to integrate the kill counter to the current mod, or there must be a client update to enable it?
I mean if you'll make it, is it just simply appears on the char screen?
(sorry if i ask some stupid, but i have no experience on programming...)

To count only kills within a certain range of your own level is not a bad idea, but i think the best way is add this lvl requirement in the "summary counter" only. The current game counter is nothing than an actual fun, so it would count every single kill.

As ki4m and stars said, to count merc's kills separately, and show some certain weapons is also a good idea.

How do I imagine it:
A 2x2 table appears under the mastery-absorb-piers-res table, in the same line with the close button. First column is the name, the second is a veryf*ckingbig number :D, so this cell must be so long ;)
First is "summary counter", and it count your kills (you, your summons, and your merc kills together), but within a certain range of your own level. My idea is 10 lvl under, and every above.
The second row is the "game counter", and it counts every single kill without any rules (the summary of you, your summons and your merc kills), but it will be reset after quit.
If you move the cursor over one of these counters, there is a window appears like if you move the cursor over your defense.
What would be in this window? The count of your merc kills, the count of single shot kills, or some certain weapons or skills you killed an enemy with, or i dont know :D
I'm waiting of some more idea...

If it is really easy to make it as Rage said, i'll be so glad if somebody make it! ;) (and i think, i wouldnt be the only happy person)

a "total kills" record and a "kills within your level range" can be done np and it counts kills by your merc and summons too. All this requires a serverside and clientside update though. I already have it enabled for my SP HU so its an easy switch over to mp (its already done)
The counter is at the bottom of the stat screen
Edit: excuse the dodgy font, someone had a prob with it so i was seeing what was up with it (I know its ugly)

Can you run kills near level through chat, so people can build a parser and do some fun stuff? Or just dmg or both?

Thx!

I know you said it is easy to make, but I couldn't beleive it will be easy like this :D

And the usually lame question: How can i enable it?
I know you said:

Thanks in advance!

In Eastern Sun the normal attack description not only has a kill counter it also lists the number of times you died even... In any case a kill counter is entirely possible.

You can only enable it for single player.
For it to work on the realm, it needs to be included in the server pack (installed on the hosts).

If theres a server side update a some point, and its ok for it to go in, PM me and i'll send the files needed.

If you want it for SP, PM me :)
