Well after a bit of thought I am considering going HC...I hear people over there are actually cool to be around and the community is small so more people are needed.


My question before I go...Is there any compensation for lag?

Ive died many times in SC due to instability on servers. I'd hate to be running through a map and get back tracked in the middle of 10 elites(god forbid) and die.

By compensation I mean

Easier mobs?
Rollbacks for lag deaths?
etc etc


Let me know.

mobs are as hard as in sc

I had some rollback in the past but lost only 1 char because of that this ladder (at norm duri)...
I just try to avoid zerolag server as it's bad connection for me,
so if you see you have many rollbacks etc on one server, try to avoid that one.

To ease yourself in, just slow your game down. Take your time in areas with fast enemys and keep a merc with you. If someone bitches at you for going too slow, just tell them to stfu and explain you are finding your HC legs.
Mostly, just take your time until you are comfortable and don't be discouraged if you die. (it happens, just deal with it)

We definitly need more HC players so I give you thumbs up to come join us. Most of the HC characters have characters that are level 8x or 9x and can help you get through some areas if you are playing alone. However, most times you won't need anyones help since you run into groups getting through the same stages as you. All of us play together and are really good friends. We all help out each other and don't bitch about stupid shit - well sometime .

There's drama on HC just like on SC, it's just on a smaller scale due to a smaller amount of players. If you piss someone off its just a lot more noticeable, as there are probably >10 active players in Hell right now.
Most people on HC are pretty cool though. The only faggot you have to look out for is some dude named *Brucelee.......

Not played SC for at least 10 years and been playing HU since it moved from the Toxic server (7 years?)
There's no substitute for the buzz that you get from playing HC and also the depression that results from the loss of a high level character.
I just can't seem to get the same affinity with a SC character. HC seems so much more intense.
I'm pretty much a loner in HC since my long time playing partner gave up playing, but I still persevere and 'waste' so many hours of my life playing this mod.

If you die on SC a lot due to server lag then playing HC is going to be a headache pure and simple. Lag deaths on HC are the most frustrating shit ever. Community is also a lot smaller. It'd be good to get atleast 1-2 other guys from sc to join you.

You can always come bone prison shit for us. Also sorry for shitting all over your prayer barb, I sometimes forget what I consider the best way to go about in HC isn't necessarily the best for SC.

The only character I can remember losing to lag, or rather my internet crapping out, was my LF zon last ladder. She was about 40m from 100, geared to the teeth, and when my net cut out I lost it all with no loot. Was pretty brutal but it's just part of HC, you move on after a couple days.

Yeah there was this one period on HC where like 3-4 99 chars died. It all started with my Hurri druid "IceIceBaby" tried to kill Dia and got smoked due to lag then DRHC lfzon died in tundra and then Pious 99 zon died in LoS forget who else... think there was 1 more 99 death. Crazy ass week! lol

Don't worry about it. I may start a HC character eventually but with the servers being what they have I think I'll wait . And I roll Meleezons GOGO GIMPED!

Well reading the posts Ill definitely give it a go. I havent had the opportunity yet been busy on SC...But sometime during the week I'm going to give it a go. Perhaps I can get a few friends to join.

That would be great man... I played all weekend with Ben and others like Lee and didnt see too many people on sadly... I been wanting to start new char but only 1-2 people even started from the beggining this whole week at the same time.

I play from the UK on US servers and have only died once to lag on my second ever HC char. I don't think there are nearly as many lag deaths as is made out. It's usually player error or just unavoidable deaths like might + amp + extra strong +extra fast anodised elite surprising folks.

Deaths happen, HC just makes them fun

You connect wirelessly to the router by any chance? I've personally grown to greatly dislike wireless myself since it falls prey to interference as well as sharing the bandwidth with any other wireless users. My dislike is so strong I'd even go as far as running a 60+ ft ethernet cable to have internet.

No my brother is just forever downloading everything that's ever existed. He has 3 TB's full of movies music and TV shows so far.
