I am back to the realm and have been playing a fair amount with my roommates. We were in Act Two, fighting Duriel. For challenge reasons and for better drops we had added mules to the game, giving us a full 8-man team with only 3 of those being active players. Obviously, Duriel was hard. We ripped through many potions and we had Duriel at under 5% health. A sliver, really. At this point we got a message from our server (FuryCury's) that we had one minute remaining before it killed the game. With but a few hits to the giant slug remaining, the server killed the game.

This should not have happened with active players in the game.

If this is unable to be changed, I HIGHLY recommend that the server message declare the time limit.

My servers time limit is 9 hours. This is because people like to go afk in games for days at a time.

More ppl in game won't increase quality of drops, just quantity and since duriel(and other bosses) drops always 6 uniqs... it was only for challenge reasons .

While the overall QUALITY of drops may not improve, more drops in total means more chances for better stuff. At any rate, more than a single minute warning would have been nice. Even a 15 minute warning would have been nice - we would not have attempted Duriel in that instance.

Actually that really depends on the no drop chance... In the case the monster dropping has 0 no drop then extra players won't boost the drop quantity at all. Also depending on the non zero no drop chance boosting players past a certain point will actually simply just boost monster health more than it boosts drops actually slowing down loot finding.

From trash it's correct, I just understood you had filled up game just for duriel fight, not for an entire game.

Btw. What took you so long to reach 9h limit??

The warning messages are controled by the d2gs software...I have nothing to do with that. All in all...just bad timing. Ive had games drop and servers crashing doing Baal runs, shit happens.
