Important Update

There was some errors while packaging 1.3b MPQ's. These MPQ's are updated in the packages linked bellow (with _r2_ in them for full, _r3_ for lite).

Installation Instructions(for non D2SE)

This is the correct order from disc installation :
1- Install Diablo II 1.00
2- Install Diablo II LoD which is 1.07
3- Install LoDPatch_110.exe which is 1.10 -> http://files.arimyth.com/HU/LODPatch_110.exe
4- Install HU 1.3b Core
5- Install either HU 1.3b HighRes r2 or NormRes r3
6- Run D2ModSetup, be sure it asks to INSTALL

D2SE Plug In Install

The official D2SE plug in is not ready at this time. SeltSamuel is working on giving the plug in to give better functionality so that the execution of a file swapping bat file is not necessary to switch between norm and high res modes. For now a hotfix to update the beta 2 D2SE plug in's high res mode to that of the official patch settings is what is available. It should be noted the plug in only works properly in D2SE version 2.2.0 (earlier versions will likely crash). For people dead set on using D2SE will follow the following instructions:

1) Download the beta 2 D2SE plug in and the 2HR.mpq.
2) If you haven't already installed the beta 2 plug in extract it do the MODS folder of your D2SE install.
3) replace the 2HR.mpq in the Language_2HR folder of the plug in install with the one from the download to update the high res mode.

1.3b Official Change Log

Code:
1:a number of unique/RW changes
2:ber rune changed to 2%cb in weapons
3:holy auras synergys changed to convic and respective resist aura both for 20%
4:MDR on diamonds cut back
5:Armor override on zerk reduced by 5% per hard point (negated when maxed)
6:Geddon and valor rws masterys removed and replaced with 50% fire mastery
7:maul grants 10% critical +2% per hard point
8:fana grants 10% critical +2% per hard point
9:plague jav duration at tier 1 changed from 10frames per lvl to 5
10:necro blades cooldown increased to 2 secs
11:buffed spirit wolves damage, timer increased to 1.5 secs, and increased max number to 2+1 per 5 soft levels
12:dire wolves damage increased slightly and max number increased to 3
13:HoW grants 1% dr per hard point to the party
14:SoB grants 1% ele absorb per 2 hard points
15:Bone spear tier 5 damage scaled back by 10%
16:Bone Spirit damage increased by 10% on tier 5
17:facets +%element damage range from 2-3%
18:amp values readjusted to soft level progression
19:enemy lifetap causes hp drain = their level per second
20:shields base damage increased by 20%
21:smite damage per level increased by 5%
22:blessed aim grants 1% passive lifesteal per level
23:elemental set parts grant +20 oskill meteor, glacial spike and thunder storm when fully equipped
24:confuse is no longer overwritten by other curses
25:meteor patch duration reduced by 20%
26:ce timer removed
27:Medi on holy amulets replaced with prayer
28:Crushing blow added as a suffix at 2-3% on weapons
29:deadly strike added as a suffix on weapons at 5-15%
30:templars armor changed to +2 skills and minimum pierce dropped to 8% elemental/pois and 4% magic (max unchanged)
31:topaz craft armor caps at +1 skills
32:boss resists have physical reduced (hell baal now 110 with charm)
33:all of the LoS heroes are now knockback immune
34:decoy reduced from 100% of zon hp + 10% per lvl to 75% of zon hp +5% hp per lvl with life buff double dipping removed.
35:fixed moncurse versions of amp + lower resist
36:summons Ai delay dropped to 2 frames
37:frozen armor def bonus dropped to 20% per level
38:necromage hp gain fixed and increased to 10% per level
39:necromage missiles buffed
40:HoW aura increased to 40% def/ar/damage + 15 per level, up from 36%+12% per level
41:blessed aim fixed/strategy conflict fixed
42:Cold sorb on salvation
43:prayer tier 5 dropped from 12 to 10
44:non skill IAS returned to smite
45:hurricane missiles no longer effected by slow missiles
46:IM divisor deccreased to /35 vs players from /40
47:Wolves max pet desription updated
48:d knight AI delay fixed
49:Phoenix strike missiles got a 1 in apply mastery
50:make orbs qualify as melee weapons in itemtype.txt to make usable for melee skills
51:transfer Double Throw AR% per level to Throwing Mastery to fix hardcoded AR bug
52:gave venom 3% hard self psynergy
53:lowered mind blast conversion to 5%
54:boosted psychic hammer tiers 6/20/30/50/80
55:nerfed LOS asn psychic hammer counter level 25 so max damage only rises :a tad as result of skill buff
56:gave FOH direct hit bypass demons
57:gave hammers bypass undead
58:decoy timer increased to 10 seconds
59:higher ele bowa skills mana costs cut in half, turned to proper 60 point builds
60:added freezing/cold bolts to replace fires magic arrows
61:moncurse amp reduced to -50
62:throwing stack replenish rates boosted
63: moonstone ele craft gloves/belts/boots/helms vary between 8-12 %dmg and pierce
64: Spirit/Dire Wolves and Grizzly Bear druid summons given a salvation state to properly activate their resists per level.
65: Inferno charges removed from "Dragon Chang" and replaced with blaze charges.
66: Flamebellow's oskill changed from inferno to blaze.
67: Metalgrid's and Wisp both have Spirit of Barbs charge level changed to 8.
68: Misleading elemental pierce description lines on Vengeance removed.
69: Hidden Critical Strike on Werebear now stated in description
70: Merc Changes
71: Various monster AI changes applied to adjust to new screen radius of high res plug in.
72: Feral Rage's life leech now equal to hard level.
73: One handed melee weapons now have 2.5% ED per soft str point.
74: Two handed melee weapons now have 3% ED per sfot str point.
75: Blessed Aim has a new description section clarifying the nature of its bonuses while not activated.
76: Iron Maiden's damage returned description updated to reflect what's coded.

While it could technically could be fixed server side as with any server side only player damage change it would unsync the character screen/skill descriptions from the actual damage.

oh and so far "lite" version doesn't work, just returns:

error when I try to enter any game, it's related to soundenviron.txt according to game log. I'll give a try full download but it's awfully slow for me today ;/

It's referring to resolution. You'll see farther around your character in high res.

no issues here. Using D2SE beta2 folder and replaced the MPQ with the Highres - Lite version. all is well.

My D2SE didn't have a problem and I really noticed the increased Soul Shard drop rate... Like every time I killed a boss drop rate. It's the Normal Lite one on a regular D2 1.10 Install that gives the error.

Well it should be only 3 to 40 for meph/diablo/baal ;/. You're either lucky or something went wrong.

Andy dropped 1 Duriel 2 Meph 1 Diablo 1 Baal 2 on a boss run through. Also synergy numbers are messed up for skill descriptions?

Something went horribly wrong actually due to -direct -txt shortcuts and data folders masking things on my side... :? I already figured out what the problem is and a way to quickly fix it.

Last I checked the server was taken down so it could be resetted properly. It's probably going to be an other hour or so before the server comes back online.

This will mask all the mpq errors. Currently all the mpq downloads are messed up (Core download should be fine though).


Im assuming this included the norm res lite with regards to the crashing error? With that data folder entering a single player game now works! :)

@jaykayrox You were vague with in regards to that error so I have no idea exactly what was causing the crash. What I do know though is that due to me always using -direct -txt for my data folders on my side... the fact I was compiling the mpqs the wrong way sometimes was getting masked. Those data folders are not set for the lite version. If you have in game music on by any chance things will probably sound strange in game for the music.



I'm currently working on recompiling the mpqs and uploading them. I won't be making the actual dropbox links for the new mpqs public since dropbox has traffic limitations (it didn't even hold for the beta... it surely won't tolerate the traffic of a ladder reset with everyone downloading).

I was hoping to put the server back up around 6PM but now it will prolly go over 7PM as I am currently working and I have to redo all my job previously done on GS and I have absolutely no time atm.

Sorry, i was referring to steels post about the NormRes lite crashing when you try to join a game. He was saying something about the music. After i downloaded your data folder i could join single player games. So must have made some difference :)

I just did a clean install man! Core download is like 7MB or something,

Core + xReslite + baerks data folder = all working fine in single player, obviously realm not up yet.

If you have latest beta download which Res you want + baerks data folder

Str ed nerf wasn't discussed at all. I remember only Kevin saying it's gonna be pure vita again, Pious was offline for a week and he's not pleased with that change neither. It was unnecessary change that will ofc won't be game breaking(if bosses' phys res is too low/high some ed won't change it) but it was a nice addition for pure phys builds, not it's just pointless, any midlvl item with %ed will give more than 100str and you can't compare 300 skill %ed to + 500 hp(with bo and oak around 2000hp).

Str ed nerf wasn't discussed at all. I remember only Kevin saying it's gonna be pure vita again, Pious was offline for a week and he's not pleased with that change neither. It was unnecessary change that will ofc won't be game breaking(if bosses' phys res is too low/high some ed won't change it) but it was a nice addition for pure phys builds, not it's just pointless, any midlvl item with %ed will give more than 100str and you can't compare 300 skill %ed to + 500 hp(with bo and oak around 2000hp).

just downloaded the d2se 2HR.mpq, and replaced the old one with this one. And get my char screen with not letters at all for the elemental resistances, absortion,etc. also no letters for the mgic find, fhr, ias, etc.
Did I mess up with something? I allrdy had the beta 2 installed & working proipetly.

the memory problem is to do with soundenviron.txt song numbers being set to 0. Sounds.txt filenames for the songs should be set to null instead.

Adding -ns to your D2 shortcut will suppress the error caused by the edited sound related files in the mpqs of the lite versions. It looks like an r3 version of the lite mpqs will have to be released to fix the errors caused by bad instructions I was working under to create them.

Decided to do a full reinstall, followed the directions. Tried all combinations of installs but I keep getting the same error when I join games online once I'm signed into Arimyth on Bnet. Error 182- can't connect.

Any fixes??

I took down the data folder drop box links since the r2 mpqs were put up (they were really only supposed to stay up till the properly compiled r2 mpqs were public anyways in the first place). Those were the only dropbox downloads I made public since they were the only ones small enough to stand a bunch of people potentially downloading them.

Now that I have had some sleep (didn't sleep at all the night of the reset) I should get to work on fixing the r2 mpqs by getting an r3 version to duff so that people don't crash whenever they use the r2 lite mpqs without -ns on their D2 shortcut.

I have some issues with using D2SE using normal res. I get an error as soon as I try to open my inventory amongst other things. I'm assuming the instructions given were for using D2SE along with HighRes? What should be done differently if I just want D2SE and regular res?

In the Hell Unleashed D2SE plug in folder there's two bat files. One is ToNormRes and the other is ToHighRes. You must run those bat files in order to switch modes on the D2SE plugin. It should be noted that the norm res mode is that of beta 2 so the single player on it will have a few things out of date. It should be playable though since it's only the few skill descriptions that aren't updated for what isn't controlled by server side (as well as the last 3 hell act bosses not having their physical resist as high as they do now).

First off Chlebo... you gave way too little information. There's a couple different possibilities.

1) If your not using D2SE and installed the mod to a d2 folder: You forgot to run the registry thing that came with the download to add the realm's gateway to your realm list for d2.

2) if you are using D2SE to play the mod: You either have loader or no CD crack in your main d2 install that the D2SE is applied to and it's screwing with the version identification (meaning you need to update the d2 folder your D2SE is applied to diablo 1.13c or else remove the loader with a back up of the game.exe).

idk how many times i've heard that increasing duration lowers damage but its not correct for skills.
The damage per second stays the same, but the duration is decreased.
Increasing pois duration don't lower damage it just makes the poison last longer.

The reduction was from 10 frames per level (25 frames = 1 second)
to 5 frames per level (1 second per 5 levels). for the first duration tier on the skill.

dunno if It's a known bug, but the description of frozen armor is bugged, It doesnt freeze enemies, and in the description should also be added that only this shield can be casted on partymembers too...

As of right now its players 1-3 being the same. Last patch was actually players 1-2 b being the same. If there was a patch that had 1-4 being the same I don't know what time or patch number it was.

I remember Borgnin saying something about he could have skills take intake input from the current number of players. So a special aura could theoretically be used to keep a monster's life/stats dynamically adjusted despite any single spawning shenanigans. Only idle and duriel AIs can properly support more than 1 aura however. We would have to bash some of the schemes of existing monsters in order to properly implement such an idea.

However, the plug in system has no control over the players/monster weapon damage table like it does over the players/monster health table. This is not going to change the fact that monsters are going to gain 1/16th more base weapon damage for every player past 1 in NM and Hell (meaning players 8 monsters in NM and Hell get nearly half more melee/arrow damage than players 1). There is no existing item mod that modifies base monster damage as far as I'm aware (meaning people are still going to have a reason to single spawn).

ok so i just installed the game from disc, fresh. d2 then Lod. then i followed the steps on the 1st page. i did the full and high res downloads. then i tried to add a loader. but none of them will run the game. i searched up loader on the forum and tried to download and use just about every one that was posted. i tried the -direct -txt thing too. i get this error: "the ordinal 10254 could not be located in the dynamic link library Fog.dll." im like woah... why the fuck not? otherwise it tells me to insert a disc. obviously running from hellunleashed.bat doesnt work either, nor does actually running from the lod disc, of course... just seems like i cant find any way to execute the game. and btw, does installing the LODPatch_110 simply consist of dropping it in the directory? if not then what else is there to do? well anyways, if someone has any clue please help, im pretty annoyed right now. =/ thanks

I couldn't find any description to describe the difference of the download files here and the ones here - http://blue.arimyth.com/

I am pretty sure I am going to be playing solo and I don't want to bang my head into the wall later. Do these "core" files have both solo/multiplier games? Or do I have to use the webpage I link above and just get the solo file?

Thanks, but any help about which files to use? Multi, solo or core?

actually, I'm not sure that the latest version (1.3b) ever had a single player release.

Cool so practically no one plays online and you can't beat it solo.. awesome.

Atleast it appears that way for how far past I am Blood Raven but I still can't go back and kill her.
