I remember DirectDraw crashing on me when I tried to run it full screen (but windowed mode worked). Had to use Glide in order to run it full screen.

Have you tried tinkering around with the glide-init? I had to tweak settings a lot to optimize the performance. First I started out with all the extensions unchecked to prevent crashes (if glide tries to start up with an unsupported extension it could crash). Then under Renderer section I also reduced the texture-mapping option to 256x256 (this particular setting has probably highest FPS cripple potential depending on what its set at).

how does glide-init works? i have some graphic prombelms in a thin line at the top and the bottom as you can see in the picture. it's changing continously while i'm moving. can glide solve the problem?

I have that same graphic bug in windowed mode for glide. It suddenly disapears in full screen mode for some reason for me.

Also one further note concerning the extensions. Once you got it working with no checks then try checking them one at a time and testing with the test option. Not all supported extensions boost FPS (2 out of the 5 supported actually drop my FPS). The top menu open has a query option which will detect which glide extensions you can support (so I suggest you run that before starting to check extensions).

i have this bug in full screen (and in window too, checked). the query opengl infos didn't find any unsupported extensions. i ran the test with all, one active at a time, i got 256 fps twice and 70 with the rest. if 1 of 256s active it will stay 256. i tried a lot of options, also modified things in the renderer menu and stettings, but nothing changed. or the game should be running during this? i don't understand at all how it works. what have you modified?

Since my laptop is ancient I actually have a lot of options disabled. No clue what's causing that in full screen mode too.
