Hey does anyone know what the maximum damage reduced percentage is? Does it vary with character type? Or is there someplace i can read up on how it factors into the equation for blocking etc? Thanks

Max phys resist is 50% total from all sources (Fade + all items). This doesn't vary between classes. This behaves exactly like elemental resistances, so doesn't affect blocking or Defence. For example:

1. If you have a very high defence, then monsters have a 5% chance to hit you (can't get better than that)

2. If something gets past your defence, then you can block it up to 75% of the time (can't get better block than 75%)

3. If something got past your defence and shield, then you will take damage:
3.1 If you have -Dmg (a flat number, such as the -20 Dmg on Arcanna armor) then you will lose HP from the monster's hit with some of that damage removed
3.2 Of the HP removed from that hit, you will then reduce it by your physical resistance

If a monster hit you for 100 dmg, and you have 33% damage resist, then you will lose 67 HP.

Do you need to know how BoneArmor, CycloneArmor, and EnergyShield are factored in? They are applied after step 2 and before step 3.

The block formula should be:
Total Blocking = (Blocking * (Dexterity - 15)) / (Character Level * 2)
Blocking = A total of the Blocking on all of your items.

One other factor is that having more than 50% DR seems to work when cursed.

So if you have 100% DR and have amp damage curse on you of 70%, you still have 30% DR. With no DR gear you would have -70%. But when not cursed, you only get 50% of that 100%.

The highest amp damage curse seems to be lvl10 from sucubi/harlots, which is around 73%. So having ~120% isn't a bad idea for tanks/melee characters.

PDR% over 50 works vs crushing blow as well.
