I got the thumbs up from Soulmancer to apply a server side patch to upgrade the realm to version 1.3b. This will be server side only - there will be nothing for you to download. The primary purpose is to decrease the physical resists of bosses to compensate for the reduction in Amplify Damage, but there will be a few minor adjustments as well including slight balance tweaks and bug corrections. This will not be a comprehensive balance overhaul though, so many balance items that I am aware of will not be fixed with this adjustment. This is due to limitations in a server side patch rather than a full realm reset and download. I also do not want to implement anything that is going to create potential problems as there will not be extensive single player testing of changes. You can expect this update to be done within the next few weeks and there will be plenty of notice given. To summarize: - server side fix for melee is coming - you don't need to download - I will let people know when it is complete and on its way - not everything is being fixed, just select things. - there will be no ladder reset at this time |

Great news, hope the changes are minimal and limited to melee, don't want to remake chars and farm for different items. Results from these changes will take time. Are you going to extend this ladder to encourage more people to try melee builds again? |

Waiting for him to post his a SS of his stats in the other thread. I ran with him last night and he was doing some disgusting damage. Last night we actually got a full game of HC players in Hell, it was pretty exciting! I was happy to be a part of it |

makes sense - 500str on a 450 boost wpn (most all 2h weapns) will yield some awesome numbers. For example - I ran a 680% ED eth TMaul through the calculator and it generates 20-60k dmg with no other boosts than the strength. Add in might, skill dmg, etc, etc and you will hit some monster numbers. |

with crushing blow largely gone physical melees are unable to fight any boss with iron maiden on the whole. even with boss physical resist lowered it will not change the fact that a melee will get rolled the moment the curse goes off. add in bone cages from most bosses with iron maiden are certain death even for melees that don't hit as hard. boss resist changes will not make a melee any more desirable at an IM boss fight than they are now. this doesn't even take into consideration that a boss may spawn physical immune. for a class that is not an effective trash killer, melees are really disadvantaged at boss fighting as well. |

Iron Maiden needs to be drastically lowered on the same level that the caster curse works. I don't know what it's called but you get the point. |

why not make it flat returned damage instead of a %? I'd like the necro's IM to be flat returned damage too, at least then it might get some use as monster dmg don't scale with their hp |
