Post subject:  Crashing when attempting to talk to Cain
Every time I attempt to talk to Cain in any act, on any of my characters, multiplayer or single player, my d2 crashes with an 'UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005)'

Any ideas? I haven't tried anything yet, just been attempting to talk to him on any other characters on multi/single player. The issue began today, I didn't make any changes to any folders or anything to do with the mod and was able to talk to him yesterday.

*UPDATE*
I've attempted to reinstall the mod using D2ModSetup but there's no change :(

had this prob also i went and deleted all the saved files in hu like for ur chars on bnet and that solved my issues

It's not my Program, I only made the Plugin.

and it's easier to use than the normal installation cause u dont need downgrade the patch etc, wich is maybe causing problems..

Have you tried the solution Clown provided?
Have you tried deleting (or renaming) the file bncache.dat ?

Nobody said it's the solution to every problem on the boards...

Not sure exactly why you got so defensive. If you don't have anything constructive to say then just don't say anything. If you really want to have a rant about it or have a problem with him recomending the program, use the PM function.

I know it solves alot of issues with badly installed mods as there is no chance of a corrupt d2 install with it. If it didn't work then fair enough but the fact is, the guy is providing a possible solution to problems. Do you use D2SE? If not, what exactly gives you the right to say he is spamming when you have no clue at all about the program?

Your post was completely unnecessary (as was mine). It might fix the problems folks have, it might not. You know as well as I do that alot of people who ask questions don't search for the answer themselves before posting. Maye if they didthere wouldn't be so many questions that have been answered a thousand times ("can't equip merc bug",). Leave it to the moderators to decide what is and is not appropriate. If you don't like the way he is going about providing possible fixes to problems then PM him about it. If you want to continue this conversation then PM me. I'm not against you having your own opinion, I am against us both derailing this thread.

Ps. these 2 posts + stars 2 posts should maybe be split off, they are bringing nothing positive or constructive to this thread.

I got that same error when I first installed HU, are you using the loader? cus that fixed my problem anyway.
If you dont have it, then get it!
