So guys since i am fairly new to HU, can anyone explain the following to me:

See below the items...

- Once i get all these items and beat normal baal i can then make cows?
- How hard are cows on normal? Is there a point in doing cows?
- Also, is there a list where all the purification glyphs are located?
- If i have a rare circlet - can i put 3x sockets into it by adding the circlet to the cube with 2x triple sockets? (OR is it not right on that page)

Secret Cow Level
Treasure Map (Can't remember where i got this last time)
Statue of Greed - General
Tome of Riches - Duriels's guy (prior to going in tomb)
Wirt's Leg
Secret Cow Level Portal
All Inputs Must be Found in the Same Difficulty

Uncurse Cursed RingPurification Glyph 1
Purification Glyph 2
Purification Glyph 3
Purification Glyph 4
Purification Glyph 5
Horadric Ring
All Glyphs Must be Found in Normal Difficulty

Purification glyphs:
http://blue.arimyth.com/FAQ.html
You can find this on blue.arimyth.com at the FAQ button on the top.

don't need to beat baal to do cows.
the norm cow king drops a uniq jewel (wirts)
the nm cow drops gheed's fortune (uniqu charm)
the hell cow drops anni (uniq charm)
full stats are on blue.arimyth.com

yep - 2x trip sock will punch 3 holes in your circlet.

Thats great blue!!

Thanks a lot...

Here is the other question -- How hard are the normal cows? Can someone in the 50's beat them alone or would you need a big team like you do for baal?

Are wirt's jewel's popular? to trade

cows are pretty tough - the come in very fast and in groups. A group is advised for new players.

Wirt's in trade: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3285

So preety much doing this on HC solo is suicide lol?

Also blue... another question...

If i wanted to gamble for a +3 traps rare circlet .. which is lvl 45.. When can i do that?

Do you gamble the level that you are or do i have to be certain level to gamble lvl 45 items?

there is some sort of +/- level thingy with circlets and rares that I don't remember. Ask someone to bring you a high lvl circlet and then roll it using adament glyphs rather than constantly gambling. Much more efficient and better results.

Doing anything you are unfamiliar with solo in HC is not recommended.

I was thinking re-rolling rares but that doesent seem to be a cheaper option...
"Any Rare Item
3 Moonstone Gems [OR] 2 Uber Gems
Adamant Glyph"

Or where you thinking Magical?

Any Magic Weapon/Armor
Mithril Glyph

..

I was wanting a rare circlet then do 3 sockets in it after i get a 3 to traps..

If i can gamble one i would rather do that... i guess i am hoping someone can tell me at what lvl can i gamble a 45 lvl circlet.

rare + ada glyph = new rare
socket it after you find the mods you want as rerolling can destroy sockets

Oh awesome!!

So even if that is normal Diablo gambling rules it still applies to HU?

If that is the case, that is awesome... then i will just gamble at lvl 45 and will be sure to get something at that level...

Blue here is the very last question i have... so let's say that i do gamble a circlet and it states it requires a lvl..... lets say.... level 35 to use... can i re-roll that item into a lvl 45 circlet or would i have to gamble something at lvl 45 in order to determine that in fact it is a lvl 45 item?

There might be a misunderstanding between Blue and Benjamin regarding the level of the item. I hope this information and examples helps clarify things. This information does not extend to Crafting.

1) All items have two levels to consider: iLvl (item level, this is not observable, this determines mods that can spawn on the item), and rLvl (requirement level, this is the observed level required to use the item, it is generally the level of the highest mod or the base item itself, whichever is higher).
2) Mods have two levels as well, iLvl that they can appear on, and rLvl used to determine the char level needed to use that item. The mod for +3SkillTab has iLvl=60 and rLvl=45.
3) Circlets have an rLvl of 45 in HU, so they will never be lower than char level 45 to use. If the circlet spawned with a mod with rLvl 51, then the circlet would be level 51 to use.
4) The iLvl of a circlet depends on the monster that dropped it, or the character level that gambled or imbued it. Just like in Vanilla, the iLvl of Circlets gets a +3 bonus for the mods that can appear on it, gambling yields iLvl within -5 to +4 of the char level, and imbue gives the item a +4 iLvl bonus. For example, if you imbue a circlet at char level 53, then the circlet should be capable of mods that require an iLvl of 60 (e.g. +3SkillTab needs iLvl60).
5) Rolling a rare item using an Adamant Glyph does not change the iLvl. For example, if you wanted to roll a +3SkillTab Circlet, then gamble it with a char at level 62 (since the iLvl could be as low as 60 when gambling in this case), or imbue a plain circlet at level 53, and then roll that circlet using any character (since the rolling recipe does not consider char level).

If there are specific mods that you are after, look at MagicSuffix.txt and MagicPrefix.txt for the iLvl needed to spawn them.

Ok so i am probably terribly stupid after this explaination but i dont get one part here...

...why the heck would i need to have a char at lvl 62 .. 17 lvls higher in order to gamble for a lvl 45 circlet?

That makes no sense to me for some reason.. what am i missing...

ilvl=item lvl, the mod for +3 tab skill needs to be ilvl 60
rlvl=requirement lvl, this has nothing to do with what the ilvl is. it only affect at what lvl the char can wear it.
so to gamble at lvl 62, it will ensure you a ilvl 60 because gambling will use char lvl to determine ilvl.

1) The text files are located in patch_d2.mpq. Files that end in MPQ are just compressed files, kind of like .zip or .rar, so you just need to find a suitable decompressor program.
2) No, the iLvl and rLvl of some mods and items have been changed in HU. There are also a few mods added (such as a higher tier of +EleDmg to attack charms).
3) ResAll charms exist, I've even found a couple this ladder already (although I sold the 3%ResAll GC). The Frequency value of "Shimmering" mod is relatively low, so these charms are rare. The iLvl is about 35 for any size of charm, so if you are farming for them in Hell, then you are reducing the odds of finding them by quite a bit; however the non-res mods available at higher levels are pretty nice.

Here's something u may like Ben: i got a +3 traps rare circ ft in hc, and you can use quads sockets in helms here, well maybe its a bit too expensive for you right now and thats why u wanted to use triples...

Well so if you still havent found your circ and can offer some gems or runes for one /m *dieu
