From what I understand from one of Steel's posts, I was lucky not to have anything in that space and not get a corrupted char? Or maybe I misread it, but anyway, the reinforced mace shows as 3 active squares but occupies 8.

Naaaaaah man, Item itself is 1x3 squares, just have wrong graphics, you can put something on these 2x4 squares and it will be ok, use PureRage's changes for quick fix it.

I was saying that if you would increase item from 1x1 to 1x2 it could(I'm 90% sure, changing itemtypes is always bad idea) corrupt your chars or just be overwritten by another item and disappear.
Now patch is 100% gamebreaking-free.

I was trying to understand the principle behind the item sizes, but I guess I misunderstood that is is the type that could make it a problem, but I was using PureRage's edits at that time.

Yeah it's a graphics problem I see it too. The graphic reference and the size reference are two separate things and won't corrupt anything.
