Post subject:  area levels / leveling guide

i apologize in advance if this information is posted somewhere but i've looked around and couldnt find exactly what i was looking for. Was just wondering if anyone could post all of the area levels to use as a leveling guideline. And a followup question, what is the level range restriction to get max exp. Like is there a penalty for every level you are above the area level, how many levels can you be under the area level to still get max exp, etc. If anyone could answer these questions or point me in the right direction it'd be appreciated! thanks

I put this together back in 2005, but it should give you a ballpark:

Well that is slightly wrong, the normal is true. But nm ends with about 85, and hell, i'm pretty sure there aren't many people who were 96 lvl when they killed diablo.

It isn't "wrong" it is just how you read it. The chart is the level of the boss from the text files so it can't really be wrong in that sense. It just provides a guideline.

Going along with the leveling question, I am kind of wondering if there is a specific way to know what items can actually be dropped in certain points of the game.

For example, I am in act 2 nightmare at the moment. What can I expect to find there if I farm for a long time, if the monster's are level 70 there (just a guess), can I expect that I should be able to find any item with lvl requirement less than 70? I know I have read about this and know the graphs for normal battle.net diablo, but I do not know the same information for this mod. Thanks for any help.

Kind of. In most cases if the monster is say level 70 they can drop the majority of level 70 items and below(though some at really shit odds). You should read up on treasure classes. I wish I knew more on TCs but I haven't really researched it much. TC is very much still relevant to HU. This link should give you a basic understanding: http://diablo2.diablowiki.net/Treasure_ ... e_Class.3F
