When you upgrade a normal ethereal item to a superior item using adament hammer/glyph, does the item lose it's ethereal mod?

I've upgraded quite a few ethereal items to superior without losing the ethereal mod, but just now when I upgraded I lost the ethereal mod.

Doesn't matter what you did, no one even cares about what you think....

J/K!!!!!

No, it should not lose its eth mod, it would be the same as upping a unique eth, you dont lose the eth mod on those, and normal/eth items are no different, cept for the super cool mods that is!!!
