You need the Horardric Bubblegum. The Viper amulet won't stick to the staff without a little bubblegum to hold it in place. Blizzard forgot this minor detail, so we added it in this game.

You can find the Bubblegum down in the Halls of the Dead. Go down to lvl2 of the Halls and you will find a doorway to the Juggernaut. He's an ill-tempered fellow who runs fast, hits hard and likes to play with fire. Some damage reduction and plenty of fire resists are well advised to get equipped before visiting him.

Once you kill him, a portal will open up. I won't ruin the surprise, but just be prepared when you do enter that portal.

Once you get the bubblegum, stick it with the staff and amulet and you will have a full staff.

big thx =) we found this bubblegum and mute all ingradients.

but cant kill Duriel :)) its very hard.
i think we need more damage reduced %

party: necr-summon(amplify + recasting blood golem. other die with 8x damage duriel-boss and his warcry) and me-pal-hammer(equip for smite)

high defense seems to help a lot against dury too - especially as a hammerdin. I think it is because he doesn't seem to hit all that often, or maybe he just has lousy Attack Rating. Might want to try tossing a bunch of diamonds in your gear if that works out for you - diamonds got a really nice boost in this last patch for early levels.

As you mentioned though, skulls in your shield for dmg reduction is a big win.

since main dury attacks are single hit melee based ( apart from that icy counter, warcry, and the leap attack if you try to run away ), the necro could be running blades instead of golem. They are not durable, but the trivial recast time ( 1 second ) does them useful for tanking that lesser evil.

And instead of running amp, consider to curse him with decrepify, for a less dmg taken and slower movement / attack. Then mass diamonds ( you are over lvl 33 I presume, so flawless ones ) on both armor and helm will do a fine job, as Blue stated before.

♥ ,and welcome to HU ;)

Have the nec spam clay golem. The cold AoE damage from duriel wont hurt it and it will slow him down.

Run to the bottom right corner and fight him from there. Make sure you have some PDR/MDR (20-30 will make a decent impact) and maxed cold res.
Switch to walk when you enter. If you are running he will leap attack you and that will hurt, alot
