I think everyone knows that we could use a new host or two. Are there any "pillars of the community" that people would trust enough as a new host?

Keep in mind that this person will have the ability to hack and cheat at their fingertips and it is only their good nature and integrity that would hold them back. That is no small thing - as the saying goes "power corrupts".

Power only corrputs the already corrupted people or those ones with inner non-confessable evil wills , in my opinion.

I can't even understand that, donno if thats a good connection or a bad one , Im an ass managing my comp. I suppose its BAD, coz I laggalot ( though , still loving HC )

I'm pretty sure many people around here are also quite reliable guys .. faith in humanity will save all us beyond heaven's gates, brothers and sisters.

I think another Euro server host would be really good too. Having a Euro server was a really nice chance for euro players. All servers hosted in the US kinda puts euro players out and they have to suffer some bad ping rates sometimes, especialy at peak play times.

Don't know if theres anyone from europe that would be willing to host, if there is they should come forward now.

There has been way to much trouble with hosts fucking their servers up and cheating as you were told in the other thread. Thus making the choice of new server hosts limited to those who are trusted.

I'd like to host again, but having 6 computers, ps3, and xbox live all running on 1 connection might make it a bit unstable.

I vote for Kasia, even better, Mario....neither will cheat, they don't know how.

A major +1 for jay hosting again. If you can be arsed setting it up anyway. It would be worth puting it up for a week or so to see what kinda feedback you get running all those machines on the same connection. I don't think it should make too much of an impact as I had 3 laptops s 360 and a spare laptop for downloading running all at the same time. If one of my nephiews were staying with me there was another laptop running too so it may be worth at least a shot. If you do get it set up i`ll hop on the realm and let you know how it is running for the UK players.

On a side note. DirtyMusic is a retard, I know the hosts for medianxl and none of them would act in the manner i seen from him. thats a big -1 from me on that front.

I would like to put it out there if an untrusted host is willing to give me no lag I really don't care if they cheat as long as it makes my game play better. I'd rather have a cheater in the community than me having my baal runs and other runs killed by games crashing.

Actually - you wouldn't.

Lets say that as a server host I decide that any rune should be purchasable in Act 1 normal for 3 gold. Hmm. screw that - make it 5 gold.

Oh and if you put stack of arrows in your cube with a healing potion, you will get a DHorn. Gonna do that and tell all my friends about that one. Hmm, maybe bolts and mana pots will give you Hearts, because lets face it doing Land of Shadows is a real pain and I just want the Heart.

Understand now why we are very cautious about allowing server hosts?

guess who is thinking about returing in full force i have missed playing hu with everyone and am interested in rejoining after a long break if i am wanted back with hosting again i may be willing to lend a hand again. but its all on the player feedback of whether they want it and if duff and terry want me back in server position.

Jay ever get your desktop out of storage? ...was a lot of people playing this weekend complaining about zero lag servers...I didn't play on them so i don't know the validity of the complaints...either way more servers = better play.

bring it back :D

And to quote blue's first post here about having the ability to cheat for being a host at their fingertips...I guess it is at my fingertips but I wouldn't even know where to begin and its easy enough to find everything in game that I might need...or trade for it...keep them skillers coming guys you know i need to feed my addiction :D

Well i have a P-3 with like 768mb ram, so that is a no no. I will see if my uncle has a p4 with ddr ram, and I will build one to host. Tho i have a 0.5mbit upload connection and 0.6mbit is minimum required.

Thank you for the offer, but I believe it is best if we decline. I hope you don't feel terribly insulted, but you simply aren't well established in this community and we need to be very selective in who we allow to host as a server host can very easily abuse their power.

i'm thinking about hosting with a 7mbit/0.5mbit connection. Watcha gonna do about it noob! :D

But really it will be a eastern server so mostly people from east will ping good

I agree with Blue here we need people that have bean here for a long time.. To many times have we seen people abuse this.. And m8 that isn't the best connection.. You might only be able to handle maybe 3 to 5 games..And with summer here it would be nice to get someone that can handle like 20 plus.. 8-)
