What ever happened to this on 90% of items? Is there a reason why this was removed, items drop frequently anyway, why have it be a pain to find a top tier one?. Just sort of wondering about this. I think weapons/armor would be quite neat if there was more randomizing going on to them. I don't know, it's late, just a thought and looking for an explanation to why a lot of the variations went away.

Long ago, in an HU version far away, there was a movement to remove the variability from items. They haz never returned.
