Not sure if I've suggested this but how about a gamble thing that you can click the items for the screen to show and only that item will pop up.. I've seen it in a mod I played not sure if doable or if anyone else wants it.

These are the ideas I come up with after exiting 50 gamble screens in a row looking for Belts.

I'm not sure if gamble.bin is read from the server or the client.

Maybe someone can check and report back.

Extract gamble.txt from the patch and open it with excel. Change all itemcodes to "ssd" (short sword) and start the game with -direct -txt. Log on to the realm and check the gamble screen.

If only short swords appear then we can build a small program to change our .txt from a UI.

I messed around with this some. I used the walkthrough you linked to find the txt file and change them all, but when i tried to create a game it crashed d2 said the patch mpq was corrupt. I dont really know what I am doing just followed the guides i found on here. The main thing I might be doing wrong is the step between extracting the text file to saving what you change back to the original.

Either i am doing it wrong or its sever side, I changed the colors of some runes to make sure i was doing that right then I used d2excel to change the gamble.txt saved it and put that data folder in but the screen still had everything like normal. Im sure its me doing something wrong.

any idea what mod had it so maybe we could look at what they have?

I suspected it was server side. I know of a gamble filter program, but its for SP only.

To make it work on the realm would mean clients having the ability to manipulate the hosts game server. It would also mean that every player on that server would see only the same items filtered. It wouldn't work.

No prob for SP tho.
