So...I think attack rating through dex suck ass!

I got about 130 dex on my lvl 64 paladin and I only got 2600 ar using zeal or vengence. Wich is 57% to hit on nm andy wich also suck anus considering if you use zeal and miss the first attack you'll miss all your attacks....

So right now you kinda need a buttload of ar gc:s to get enough ar to actually hit shit.

I'm not saying we should get like a fuck load of ar, but at least some so we dont need half your inventory full with gcs to get almost enough ar to hit the boss. When you spend this amount of points in dex you should get at least some ar!

Give some ar to the people! :P

Paladins need 6 points per lvl, that will fix this problem too

Need flat ar on weap or somwhere on gear. I have a venger and he has alot more ar than you. But I crafted a weapon and put ms amethysts in it.

max blessed aim? I thought you only got 5% passive ar for each point. Will that really add up to that much? Ofc you'd need some flat ar on that but will it still bumb it up that much?

I get 125 ar from my ring and got a charm with 90ish ar but thats about it.

I think everyone here is right (except my first post lol)
The AR bonus from dex seems pretty lame. I don't put points into dex to boost my AR like I did str for dmg last ladder (only ever put points into dex to meet req of wep or boost block)

What are the AR per dex values currently? What would be a reasonable boost?

However, Verb, gotta invest more than 1 charm and 1 item with flat AR for your AR% to take care of itself! The point of the thread still stands, though.

That's the only right answer. Flat AR works so well on most melees 5% per point and life leech so I think it's worth maxing on any melee pally. Ame's in wep are a great source of Flat AR and one or two 120+ AR Gcs in conjunction with that % based goes a long way.

Currently AR per dex point sits hard coded at 5 flat AR per soft dex point. While there's ways to potencially boost this with a passive that would mean giving EVERY character that passive (which would mean unpumpable passive skills on every character ala AM style).

okey so no dice on the increase ar on dex wich sucks but not your fault. Thanks for the info though Beark.
Thanks Lockdown, I'm gona try maxing BA and see how it works. Hopefully it will work well with a few ar gcs.

My paladin is holy freeze so hopefully it will work well on him too.

EDIT: yeah I know I need more then one charm but I was pissed with the low amount I got from dex thats the point of the thread anyway :P

When you get to Valor you won't need much AR for trash as the Jah makes you hit everything on bosses keep like 6-8 AR Gcs in cube.

btw I saw a pic on someones holy freeze pala before on the forum wich had like 59k damage on holy freeze(believe that was yours iirc), with valor last season.
How the fuck does that work? I've almost maxed all synergys on my holy freeze and it doesnt even do 3k damage. Does it get like a huge damage increase from +skills and did the previous oskill cold mastery add THAT much damage?

Almost feels like I should have gone with my previous pala that was a dream rw holy shock/conviction auradin.

depending on your level u can use vamp gaze b/c the bone armor proc adds a bit of dmg and a decent amount of attack rating and defense. With out that proc i only have 6537 ar, with it i have 11540. Pic below has bone armor, enchant, and frozen armor all proc'd from items.

Edited: sry twas testin on sp as my current connection sux. so removed

Next screenshot ya might wanna turn off R2D2 =) Unless we needed to know your axe was lvl 72 to prove your point.

though don't have much faith in melee characters right now, with the huge CB nerf physical melee characters may as well be hitting bosses with a cardboard sword and it doesn't appear the damage boost from str has helped alleviate that.

Actually due to the unusual nature of the holy auras (except for sanctuary) they are all similiar to venom and enchant. They double dip +%element damage causing them to gain much more damage from +%element damage than most other skills would (and since valor/geddon's mastery oskills provided large amounts of the very stat they double dipped it super charged them). +100% cold damage is effectively +300% cold damage for holy freeze. Likewise +100% fire spell damage is effectively +300% fire damage for holy fire.

That was last ladder and it added A LOT of damage more than it ever should've at all. The benefit of HF is the slowing effects added on.
