Hail HU community.

here i am bored at work again, and found myself wondering why in earth there is no helm Rws.
We have 6:
Innocence: Joke 1-stat RW (El eld el)
Nadir: Pointless cloak of shadows charges and 20 str(nef tir)
Lore: decent +1 skills + all kinds of mana(Ort Sol)
Radiance: +1 skill and defensive stats... kinda meh (nef sol ith)
Delirium: Quite awesome, 2 all skills, some MF and a chance to turn into a pygmy (Les Ist Io)
Dream: Holy shock, holy shock everywhere batman (Io Jah Pul)

So, helms RWs!!!

Physical, mid-low level (50).
Insolence
3os Helms (Pul Um Mal)

+2 All Skills
+3 Perfection(Oskill)
+45% Enhanced Damage
+40% Increased attack speed
5% Ctc level 40 Venom when striking.
5% ctc level 20 Burst of Speed when struck
40% Deadly Strike
+runes stats (magic damage reduced by 15, Replenish life 33, 50% extra damage to demons and All resist 6)

Tanky, mid-high level (75).
Resonance
3os Helms (Sol Mal ber)

+2 All Skils
level 12 Meditation Aura when equipped.

Last time i tried to make up a runeword, lockdown made me make it 10 times stronger than it was on the first post... i had difficulties figuring out big numbers, now i tried to hard huh.

Ctc on kill CE would cause another CE if it killed the target? nice....now make it Ether nova and you can name it havoc for sure.

not really, its not for venom :P

Venom gives taht nice damage boost and Burst of Speed gives awesome IAS, Perfection gives chance of uninterruptible attack and AR... I think its pretty ok for a level 50 helm.

A CE on struck would try to CE the attacking moster, who is probably not dead
A CE on striking would try to CE the targetted moster, who is probably not dead also.

Or am i wrong?

No, CE uses the "searchenemynear" column so it would proc and effect the closest corpse in a small radius from the target point (not 100% sure on the range but its something like 3 yards)

well hellmouth got a 5% chance to cast lvl 1 CE wich is the only item with ctc CE as far as I know

level 60 was an overexageration. because well, the RWs name is Havoc.
Imagine you going BOOM on every enemy you kill. imagine the lulz on hell cow level, or frozen tundra. imagine getting 30 million exp or so crearing tundra with one hit

ctc summons work but it's not a simple as that. You need to spawn the summon via a missile so you would need to create a new skill for each summon that releases a missile that spawns the summon that is then added to your pet list.

Hmm, doable but hard. Ok.

Do you think a item that spawns a Wolverine or Oak would be way too OP? I don't like the absolute need of druid people seen to have, no class should be absolutely necessary.
I know the RW were a bit over the top, but they can be tweaked. Oskill perfection and CTC summons would be nice addittions to the game.

ctc summons tends to create problems if you put them on mercs. Used to have people with A1 rogues that died and could not be revived if you put the unique spider bow on them (which spawned bone cages back then).

I would advise against it.

Purerage's opinion about this? possible fixes around it? i guess a merc with a summon screws with how the game recognize them as such.
Its not like i dont like you blue, but purerage does the coding if i recall :P
Also, after that eye of thunder, i got like 15 more in the next day, murphys law at its best.

You can make a sumoning minion IIRC (a minion that sumons for you using missiles). I haven't done it myself though, I read about it on PK. The summoned stuff falls into the players pet list or something. Not sure.

would it be obscenely hard work to test? I 'd really like some flavour in items. I think every item should have something to it that makes you know what it does.
Want a nice example? Gold Crest, If you see someone running around horking you know hes wearing a goldcrest.
Gravepalm? Paladins with multi shot.

I remember finding a unique Round shield, looking at it and saying out loud "this is one item no one willl ever need"
Its probably the one single exceptional/elite item i didnt pick up and store on my mules, why? it has nothing new or cool to it.

Ctc summons would be amazing. ^^

wouldn't be hard to test, but possibly time consuming to implement. Some seemingly complicated things can be extremely easy to implement, while the things you think would be simple (or small features that aren't very fancy) can be very tricky to implement or require huge formulas etc.

For example, creating a summon that casts multiple spells seems very tricky but it is actually extremely simple.

On the other hand, putting a cap on a stat synergy so the synergy drops if you put too much in the stat requires an enormous calculation like:

(stat('energy'.base)>=(40+(ulvl*3)))?((((40+(ulvl*3))-(stat('energy'.base)-(40+(ulvl*3))))+((stat('energy'.accr)-stat('energy'.base))/2))*par8):(((stat('energy'.base)+((stat('energy'.accr)-stat('energy'.base))/2)))*par8)

It's quite frustrating that the flashy stuff is pretty easy but the behind the scenes stuff is usually alot more tricky. I don't have the time to look into summons/mercs summoning minions atm. When I get some spare time i`ll look into it more.

In the mean time, you could do a search on the phrozen keep and see what you can dig up on the subject.

ok, thansk purerage.

yeah, i was a modder for WC3, some "complicated" features could be made entirely in simple GUI, while system that seemed minor would require hours of coding. it sucked sometimes :(

Well. Only summon that can be used on monsters/mercenaries is a hydra(hardcoded). Other than that you can have minion spawners(crow nests etc) but these works in different way. You hopefully could get ctc HoW on druids helms(that would prevent to use it on merc) but whats the point when druids already have HoW.
