Idea: Add waypoints benind bosses like countess, Diablo, Andy etc. this Waypoints can only be used to travel to other waypoints and aren't listed in the Waypoint menu. This would stop the whole rejoin after quest crap and would specially in lan mode be a huge improvement...
maybe this waypoints could be coded so that they can only be used when you have completed the quest where the wp is (you can only travel back at the countess when you have killed the countess), dunno if this is possible but I think it would be a nice feature...

Or could have all bosses auto spawn tps to town like Andy does.

its a neat idea that has been discussed before and generally viewed as not viable for implementation.

They could spawn tp to towns. Just set invalid(or baal quest) questflags to these location so you can't return. TBH I never tried doing that but code/plugin to spawn portals is here. That's a fine solution but for a major patch.
Can you post which quests should get this? These in a2 and a3 that require hiting/opening chests in my opinion couldn't spawn any tps to town. 2nd Juggernaut/a1 tower orb/Izuall/Nihla/ could spawn extra port. Well worth checking. I'll grab some tools and more knowledge first.

It's really dumb that you have to backtrack through a place after clearing and killing most bosses.

There is no reason for it, since the mobs are all dead anyways, you're forced into running back or saving and exiting and rejoining(optimal and quickest route).

There's just no need for it when bosses could spawn TPs, you could even set it so it only spawns TPs when you complete the quest.
