I made this suggestion previously to Soulmancer, I think it is a good one.

Rune drop for Countess adjusted (TreasureClassEx.txt - lines 788-790):

Norm Contess: rune 2-9 (eld - tir - nef - eth - ith - tal - ral - ort)
NM Contess: rune 14-21 (dol - hel - Io - Lum - Ko - Fal - Lem - Pul)
Hell Contess: rune 20-27 (Lem - Pul - Um - Mal - Ist - Gul - Vex - Ohm)

can't remember if this is currently what Nihla drops or what I proposed that Nihla should drop, but it is useful for this discussion:

Norm Nihla: rune 12-19 (amn - sol - shael - dol - hel - Io - Lum - Ko)
NM Nihla: rune 18-25 (Ko - Fal - Lem - Pul - Um - Mal - Ist - Gul)
Hell Nihla: rune 24-31 (Ist - Gul - Vex - Ohm - Lo - Sur - Jah - Ber)

I could have sworn hell Countess has been dropping up to Ohm already since 1.2.

I ran her a good few times when after vex's or similar runes. I was generaly getting vex's pul's and ist's from her last patch, infact in the trailer im sure she drops a vex and ist.

rockin! sounds like this is in play then.

I wonder if the quest drop (first time you kill her) is still coded to crappy runes because when I did her in NM I think I got a Tir or a Tal.

Im pretty sure I had the od low one even on hell countess (ral was the lowest iirc) but there was almost always one of the better ones

Did her again and got an Io and a Nef. bleh!

On the upside, rabies druid kills her without much trouble. I even left my magic find gear on for the second one accidentally and still didn't really break a sweat.

Looks like the bottom line is that the Countess remains a waste of time and Nihla is the only real rune boss. That is a shame :(
