 Post subject: Merc gear? Advice needed inside.

I recently made an infinity for my a2 merc, but other than the weapon, im unsure what gear to equip on him. He gets slammed hard anywhere above act1 hell. I'd like to gear him so he is a decent tank for my light sorc.

Any advice on what to toss on him? ( im not uber rich so keep this factor in mind plz ).

Glassglare if you have it, full elemental set, tri res boots/gloves are always easy. Shaft+string+rockstopper gives the 50% dr as well as plenty of res and ll.

Eh? Shaft+string+rockstopper gives three resists (20-40%) from the helm. None otherwise. And 6-8% ll from string, that's all.

Unless this mod is different...max DR is 75% for monsters

no its not, its 50% DR player cap...that was put into effect in regular d2 i think in patch 1.10 or 1.11

Yeah and you can get resists easy from other stuff and mercs don't need a whole lot of leech anyhow, unless you seriously expect them to tank some of the bosses. It depends, I suppose.

No ofc not, %dr works just fine. I was just stating that there was almost no res nor ll on that setup.

Did Knowledge and Insight stack...?
Anyway, I took the other route (since I have a CTA on my off-hand, I couldn't switch out my D.Shard for it) and didn't bother with conviction at all.

My merc uses the following...
Wraithflight (Unique Ghost Glave, comes Eth)
Spirit Ward (w/ Uber Skull)
Glassglare (w/ Ber)
Dream Helm (Diadam, Lvl 20 Holy Shock (R/W))
Worldstone Granite
Crafted Death Gloves w/ 2 Resists
Crafted Diamond Boots w/ 2 Resists (for the Vigor)

Tank's VERY well, aside from the fact that it gets owned by Extra Strong/Extra Fast/Fanat mobs (all 3 together, of course)
