Should I get an A2 merc with insight or an A5 merc with insight? I know A5 makes a great tank but what's the advantage of A2 merc?

if you get a prayer merc they will give the heal from prayer and the heal will be added to the medi aura on insight. a2 mercs also attack faster but have a less aggressive AI. I prefer a2 prayer if im gonna use insight. The double heal is fantastic

Ooooh, sounds good to me. My sorc desperately needs the medi aura and a merc that can keep guys standing still for meteor, so that sounds good.

converts are seriously handy too so try to get one from nm. If you let him attack and convert 5/10 enemys before bosses with minions around them they can tank the boss for you too.

I usualy gear an a2 merc with an eth cryptic axe insight, glassglare, ele set, Immortal flesh (for +12 prayer) dracs to help him tank, triple res rare boots (30+res if poss) and vamp gaze. The focus is on damage negation, with absorbs and damage reduce% and the lifetap in order to help him tank the really heavy hitters. Remember to tele right ontop of the healers in act 3 so he converts them for you and you get the enemys prayer ontop of the mercs. Enemys prayer heals a TON more than player/merc prayer (around 2k heal on the healers prayer) as monsters have such high life, player prayer would be useless.

act2 nm/hell merc have conversion i use them to solo szzak with my frost nova sorc last ladder it was easy to do wit her minions converted as tanks,act5 are better at tanking then act2 but its all in your style of play

Since I have tele to easily get my merc out of danger I'll go with A2. A5 would just be a pain. :P

And holy heck, 60 mana per meteor...>.>

anyone know the meteor stacking limit? I'm stacking 17 at the min at just over 40k per meteor and around 10k average fire damage a sec each. Whats the stacking cap? she is only at level 81 with average equip and she has space for 14 more skillers + anni, heart and brain and I can get another +3 meteor on my weapon. Is there a cap or will it just keep going up?

There is no limit, you can stack as many as duration allows, just be careful of graphical lag.

Each point in Meteor increases the duration of the flames (damage over time component) by half a second, there is no cap. The cool-down timer on meteor is 1 second, so you simply stack half as many as your current Meteor level, although that doesn't count the frames needed to cast.

If you're stacking 17 times (170k dps since 10k each), then I'm guessing you've got lvl 36 Meteor?

With 14 more skillers for +14, Anni for +1, Heart for +2, Brain for +3, and the +3 weapon improvemnet, you would stack an additional 10 or 11 meteors. That stacking will improve your damage by about 40%, and lvl 60 Meteor with lvl 60 FMastery and full synergies should be doing about 14k-17k dps each cast (70k-75k initial strike).

The flame component should go from 170k dps to 420k dps at max. A little more than double your current damage, which is a good improvement, but you should be looking more towards -%Res if you're going for faster killing speed with smaller effort. The char screen numbers won't be as pretty though.

no its higher that than, its more like level 41-42, i`ll check and confirm.

I always go for a minimum of 110 passive pierce on a sorc

Edit: meteor level is 44 with a possible 23 more levels on it but it is still only stacking 17
Edit2: actually stacking 16 by my count here at level 44

Meteor/fireball has always been my favorite sorceress(even before playing HU), and I've made one every single HU ladder except for the most recent(unfortunately). It just doesn't get any better than meteor for bosses(from a sorceress standpoint). Easily one of the safest skills(low counters, great range), and probably only second in DPS to blaze as far as sorceress' vs bosses go.
