Well since im going to start the season with this im gonna ask for some advices... i never had one of this zons before. :?

So i guess the built goes with the elemental tree maxed and decoy + valk, 1pt the other skills except the pierce tree and the java tab... or im wrong? about the stats distribution maybe 50 dex/str and the rest on vita?? the gear must be mainly +skills and cold pierce i believe. anything im missing about this? ill appreciate any reply/suggestion/idea ^^

the middle skill on the cold tree is rather useless, all it will do is boost freezing arrows freeze duration, not much point in it tbh, you'll be better leaving it or maxing it very last if you really want it. I would get a point in the pierce skill as maxed pierce will be your main way of killing. also you will want snowclash or a topaz craft belt for -enemy res instead of razortail to get some pierce. Mavs set is great for ele bowa. Utter would be able to give you more advice as he has taken on right through to guardian status

take a good look at synergy bonuses and spend as little pts as needed on the bow tree for more skills available for synergy effect , not sure if its possible to make dual ele and phys but perhaps its viable, i had a build in mind a long time ago but idk if its still possible to make , it would be very offensive without valkyrie synergies though ,
strafe and one of the trees , fire or cold is also and option , so is ms or guided
havent made a pure elemental bowa yet but im sure you can pull it off , good luck , :)

I think you could maybe get away with a dual element bowa but you would need 2 sets of equip (1 cold, 1 fire). You would need a shit hot a5 merc as a tank as your decoy and valk will be weak sauce. I may try a dual element one at some point as a fun project. I like having diff setups with me for certain situations

So the second skill in tree sounds like useless, and about the pierce tree i fear the dodge and avoid so id rather to get pierce from bow or something if that possible, i still can get insane cold pierce with a templar + that unique giant conch... and maybe some facets in bow, but im going to far already talking about those items ^^, so talking more about start and mid levels i should get cold and freezing arrows maxed first then valkyrie?? and what u guys think about 50 str/dex base??

'was gonna make this char too.

Get as much pierce as you can

pierce+splash damage in a small area = damage multiplied X many times, based on amount of pericings.. yee

Get pierce, the dodge/avoid etc does work well on ranged chars. It's just meleezons that should avoid it.

As Kev said, skip the middle skill on the cold tree. I maxed the first cold skill while getting the 1pt skills. Then I moved on to max freezing arrow>valk>decoy and I did also get around 10pts in multishot for leeching and general thrash killing.

I did find Mavs set outstanding for this build, the speed, res, skills etc etc are unbeatable. Sure you can get more -res etc with a rw/unique setup (tried this aswell, Ice rw in a +3 eth gmb, templars/griffs with facets etc) but I never did find it as good.

Im going a bit different than this guys choice

With maxing the first and last cold skill(the middle one synergizs freeze length, which is useless)
I could also max valk

With an extra 30-40 skills left, im deciding to max immo arrow, and the fire per second synergie

this will be my cold immune switch

the blast damage of fire arrow is nice, but the fire per second is better

for all those who told me that 1pt pierce tree was a good idea... fu :P
never ever do that if u going bowa... razortail ftw... even if u have to sacrifice some skills, and also gives some phy dmg to increase the leech when u go with elemental arrows :/ u can always roll a rare bow with pierce and +3 BnC and with 4 cold/fire facets or ral/thul will rape. remmember that early on the game +5%=+1skills, and later on the game gets higher.

Pierce skill is a worthy 1 point investment for just about all Zon builds. It has no prerequisites, regardless of what the skill tree graphic implies. Razortail is a fantastic belt though, if you'd like to save that point for something else.

I agree with you that the Dodge/Avoid skills are often a nuisance. I think that's mostly because I only remember the times they killed me rather than helped me.

standing near a monster, u dont even know he is attacking u and u shoot like a dumb and not dealing dmg, then u run back to make sure it was dodge lock and shoot and nothing happens again... cuz u are dodge-lagged >< still there near monster but ur screen shows other thing...

act5+dodge=pain there are many ways to get pierce, no need get 1pt in that skill : /

why are you complaining about pierce if its dodge lock thats bothering you.

1: dont add do dodge/evade if you dont like them
2: you dont need dodge/evade to get pierce now
3: passive pierce is extremely helpfull especialy as a 1 point wonder.
4: if you are in the thick of it all the time then you are doing it wrong, stay back and use decoy.

So what merc would work best with a Coldzon? I was thinking either an a2 or a5 merc. But i forgot what skills they have from each difficulty.

yeh really, The tree shows it as needing them but if you wait untill 28 you can add to pierce without having the other 2.

about the dodge/evade thing: You know its very possible to make D/A a 1 frame animation, eastern sun did it, median did it, all you need to do is edit a few things in the animdata txt. file.

also on that note you can also using animdata txt. give FHR/FBR/IAS/FCR boosts to chars that have certain item types equiped

making dodge/evade 1 frame would be to much, the ability to dodge 25 times in a second would be way to overpowered. thats twice the speed a paladin with HS blocks at.

that point is null and void with 86% FBR pallys can hit 1 frame block with holy shield

so a 1 point investment and no need for fhr/fbr etc to make it 1 frame animation wont be overpowering? Then there is blocking with a javazon to be considered too.

Making it 3 frames at level one 2 frames at level 10 and 1 frame at level 20 would be more of a gradual gain over time, so it could still be a 1 point wonder but as + skills develop as you progress you can eventualy be going at 1 frame in the late game when 1 frame animation would not overpower it.

my main concern is that with a static 1 frame animation it would be very overpowered in the early game. also velk and decoy would be using the skills at 1 frame too so thats pretty strong imo.
