Hi,
i think i read in the MXL-Forums that D2 had a hardcoded 550ed cap on weapons. So i guess that exists in HU too. Does it?

And if it does... What happens if it is broken? It just caps back to 550? Or does it somehow rollback then? If it rolls back, then i cant use pysfacs on my wep :( even shitty ones will let it go above 550% ed -.-

its not a hard coded cap, its limited by the savebits in itemstatcost.txt. Its 550 per source. you can go over it with socketables.

I don't recall the save bits for ED% being increased to 10 myself. Shouldn't it be 511% ED max per item? (with of course each socketable being its own item that just simply adds its power to an other item).

there are rw, that give +550 ed... so i guess 550 is possible. And in MXL they said, it would be 550, even though that value looked very strange to me. But there was a lot of theory how to get maximumdmgweps (and a lot of ways to increase dmg, so the right combination is the key and there is a lot of theory)

I just had no clue how exactly it works. But well, if i dont have to worry when socketing physfacs, then im fine and my question is answered.

Basically there is no cap when socketables are joining forces with a socketable item. It's just an individual item (non rune, non gem) can be capped (such as 511% ED for weapons without socketables). This does theoretically mean a hacked 6 socketed weapon could have 3577% ED but 511% ED jewels don't normally exist. ;)

50% of that will come from an ohm rune
