Any Blaze sorc has played with FWall. In short, FWall is almost pointless. The only use I've found for it is casting it on archers while I'm trying to dodge their attacks. It's takes a few castings (i.e. 200 mana) to down an archer in most cases. Comparison: about lvl 40 Inferno/Blaze/FWall Inferno - Lasts as long as you don't move - About 20-30k dps (after the 1/3 dmg bug applied) - 22 yards (can target things offscreen, but only barely, i.e. Statue of Faces) - Can't stack it at all - 15 mana per second - Only 7 yards if you're hit by SlowMissle (1/3 missle speed) Blaze - Lasts about 40 seconds - About 33k dps - No ranged casting at all - Stacks as much as your FRWalk can apply it (about 70 times in a small patch (4 yards) at 120% FRWalk) - 30 Mana per cast (0.75 mana per second) FWall - Lasts 3.6 seconds - About 33k dps - Can name-lock a critter at almost any range (bad lag allows you run far offscreen and cast at them) - 2 second cooldown allows almost double stacking, but not quite. - 80 mana per cast (40 mana per second) - It's quite fun to plant one at your feet travelling towards the enemy, and then Blaze along it. Very challenging to hit the enemy with it when planted near your feet. If anyone can think of any other clever way to use or compare one of these skills, I'd be happy to hear it. |
